  7. ^ I fear Sweat won't even be there at 49. If they want him at 18, they could trade back into the late 20s.

  8. Zac went personally to watch Byron and Sweat at Texas. That's who they like.

  9. Thanks. As to the Flying Tigers—for authenticity—different manufacturers made them (not just the Bengals, but the NFL too). You will see mine was a Wilson brand. The others you might see are Rawlings and Starter.

  10. This team has always seems to feel that for LT and RT you need a high pick but the IOL can be 'picked up anywhere', not true of course, but they have never valued the IOL so they rarely drfated for value at these spots. Given we have zero depth of any value and the starting 5 are either older or young and quaestionable, I want to see 2 picks in the top 4 plus another later dedicated to the spot.

  11. I dunno. The newer/safer onside kickoff rules have basically made the thing impossible. It works 3.2% of the time. That said, what was proposed looks like something only Harvard and Yale could figure out. The kickoff itself has become more ceremonial than anything. I know it has reduced injuries but has also taken out an exciting part of the game. 78% of kickoffs are touchbacks now. At least the NFL is thinking about ways to keep the game exciting. Baseball sat on its hands for 40 years as “purists” refused to make any changes. This allowed the analytics types to basically turn “America’s Pastime” into a boring, drawn out, long affair that has cratered in US popularity. They finally made changes to speed up the game but they lost a lot of ground. Better yet, the guy they have pinned their hopes to for more revenue (Ohtani) is about to get suspended for wiring millions of dollars to an illegal bookie in Cali. Sportsbook and Casino style gambling is still illegal in Cali.

  12. Hi Tee Higgins Agent, Dumbass. Here's what we are going to do. Tag Tee this year and next. After that, he won't be worth nearly as much as a free agent. So we are going to offer a three year contract that is more per year then the franchise tag pays and a decent, comparable third year on the deal. Good money, job security in a place that loves Tee and shot at playoff and Super Bowl money to boot. Boom! And you can even borrow my pen, if you promise to give it back.

  13. "They've Gotta Beat Us." What did the team learn last year? That they can win without Burrow. More important, they learned to do a few different things in order to win sans Burrow. Some of that stuff will show up as the next part of Burrow's game and the evolution of the offense. And they'll do it without compromising the stuff that Burrow likes to do best--which means we'll still see plenty of shotgun, 4 and 5 wide, etc... . So, they got Moss because he can block and run from the shotgun. They got Gesicki who is Boyd's replacement, imo. They got a tackle who will let Burrow be more comfortable in the pocket and have more time to do his magic. This off-season is about becoming more flexible on offense, imo, and they have done a pretty good job of it --on paper. Not bad moves on the defensive side of the ball, either. So, Fuck Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Baltimore--they've got to beat us.

  14. Nobody is gonna wanna hear this. We play a last place schedule in the AFCN. The teams we have the most trouble with are the ones in our division. Last place doesnt mean much there. That's what we have to figure out, if we can win our division games everything else will take care of itself.

  15. Well, the league has never had any problems with rules that involve the "subjectivity of the call", now, has it? I'm confident that every official will see it the same way and call it the same way every play, every game, and that point spreads will, in no way, enter into the decision-making process.

  20. Just going back to 2000, you have the following 1st round OL picks: 2018 21 Billy Price C Ohio State 2012 27 Kevin Zeitler G Wisconsin 2002 10 Levi Jones T Arizona 2009 6 Andre Smith T Alabama 2015 21 Cedric Ogbuehi T Texas A&M 2019 11 Jonah Williams T Alabama So, two interior guys compared to 4 tackles. The 2nd round is 1 Guard vs. 3 Tackles: 2003 33 Eric Steinbach G Iowa 2006 55 Andrew Whitworth T LSU 2015 53 Jake Fisher T Oregon 2021 46 Jackson Carman T Clemson What they do draft a lot of high is defensive backs. Tons of them in the 1st 2 rounds.

  21. Just for Sweat. JPJ would be a good get at 18.

  22. I can agree with this, but you need to have that Ferrari motor (9) on the track. The injuries need to stop.

  26. JPJ will absolutely not be there at 80 let alone 49. He is the highest ranked center and well above #2 (much like Bowers is seens as well above the other TE's). The next center Zach Frazier, however, may be there.

  28. Koch’s was where I got mine back in the day. I would imagine they could make any style you would want—for a price. My ‘69-era Bergey jersey was made at Koch’s—to the original material and specs as the originals. Cost quite a bit though—just be warned.

  36. I used to give the same excuse actually but who has he made better, FA or draft pick. The big name FA's have kind of fizzled, they look average at best here. Carman himself seems to have all the tools but zero motivation, content to remain a backup. We could point to Volson as a later pick that Pollack has developed into a starter, but should he really be starting? They let the position coaches be draft scouts and then they end up with these pet project types wasting everyone's time. Pollack's OL has underperformed across the board, it's not just poor drafting. In either case though no one will be held responsible.

  37. Believe me I would have preferred a higher draft pick, but you can't say that around here without getting labeled a "bandwagon"

  38. But unless we meet them in the playoffs, we're not even scheduled to play the Bills or Texans this year. We do need to figure out how to beat the rest of the AFC North since that is six games of our schedule.

  39. To be fair, the Bengals have picked only one offensive lineman higher than the 4th round over the last 5 years and that was Carman at #46 in the second round. You are asking way too much of Pollack if all he gets are middle round picks and marginal or injury prone FAs. Kansas City has only one lineman chosen later than the 3rd round.

  40. If the NFL could quit screwing around with goofball rule changes, they might eventually return to being a believable sport. But they probably prefer the circus…
