We actually don't know what guarantee number Ja'Marr wants or would take. He's only made it public he wants his yearly average at $35 million and 1 penny.

He said he wants Jefferson's contract plus one penny.  Jefferson has $110 million guaranteed.  Contract, not yearly average.

You can most likely hold onto it until next year as Mike Brown stated, "the team would bend over backwards to get a deal done

but a new contract likely wouldn't before the start of the season."  

 

Other's have stated that Mike has nothing to do with negotiations and that could be true but I guarantee that Katie and Troy won't go 

against the old man's word out of respect and I doubt they have the power to do so behind his back not that they would but couldn't.  

 

Since they have been in negotiations, I'd guess the guaranteed money is the hold up.  Me personally, he's not worth Jefferson money.

He's been unable to replicate his rookie season,  Even that was only 1,455 yards whereas both Lamb and Jefferson have put up 1,700+

and 1,800+ yards with lesser QB's.  Hit those kind of numbers THIS year, then in 2025 come talk to me.

I might add that Jefferson missed 7 games last year and still managed 1,074 yards so at that pace he would

of had 1,825 yards.  And EVEN getting INJURED and missing 7 games he STILL got that giant contract!

Since it appears that the Happy Day will arrive tomorrow at the latest, it is reasonably assured that he will “get what he wants”. It may not be structured exactly that way, but the end result will benefit both he and the franchise (financially).

Do we want to go into KC next week with them coming off a loss? I think they're easier to beat if they're coming off a win. For that reason, I guess I'll hold my nose and be hoping KC wins.
