-GoBengals- Posted October 24 Report Posted October 24 I watched a few of the meaningful eagles games(healthy roster) from this year, watched a few breakdowns, and made the assumptions that Stone is 100% playing and OBJ is 100% not playing. First the Eagles. Jalen has been an oddball QB all season, even in each game he is all over the place, throws a dime on first down with WR having a yard seperation for a long TD, but sails many passes and throwing some into the ground, then throws flawless sideline screen. The only trust worthy scout i like this week described Hurtz as "looking lost" and "like he cant tell what he is seeing" aka being easily fooled be creative defensive schemes. Creative disguises on defense are something you wheel back when you are forced to start young players, we have some veterans out there, but also some youth, if Stone does indeed play, thats a great advantage to have two very veteran safeties and at least not first year corners. Id imagine there will be emphasis on stoping Barkley, so they takes a player or two help from LB's away from dropping back as much on certain sets. with a qb who can scrmble he isnt as dangerous as the fast QBs we have faced, he tends to take some odd sakcs when scrambling, so lets home we can track him down when he does. Defensively the eagles have 2 dangerous guys Sweat and the other edge whose name escapes me, and Sweat lines up against our LT, so Ford is gonna have himself a day with Sweat speedy edge rush. I think Sample and Moss are gonna spend some time over there most of the game. their secondary has been giving up big games, so if joe CAN get time we can put up numbers. that may be a big IF without OBJ out there. As for our striped friends The oline is gonna need to work great together, i assume with help, which if needed, may eliminate Geisecki from being useful at all, if we feel Ford and Moss can keep Sweat at bay, Geisecki is all the sudden a GREAT weapon as a 4th best defender or LB on a bad coverage team is a WIN. so theyll probably prepare some sets for both scenarios. but that may mean joe takes a sack or two while they feel it out. Wilson and Pratt gonna have to earn those paycheck in the run game this week, having the DT's back that gives us a shot, hopefully Barkley got all the giants hate out of his system last week and doesnt wanna go off this week, lol, he refused to go back in and get his career high against the Giants, so thats something. Their WR's are gonna be a challenge for our DB's, so much speed and size, this will be AJ browns 3rd straight game after missing 3 weeks, averaging 100+ yards per game overall and in those games the also two weeks. Smith is only averaging 60 ypg-ish in 5 games, so not as tough as brown, really geting to hurtz solves everything on the back end. so do we bring more blitzes to force his hand? Jalen has 60+ rushes this season, almost 10 per game. so expect to see some of that obviously. What does Brown bring in the run game? What can moss bring in the pass game? Does moss take over majority snaps by a lot due to pass rush help needed? if both teams pass rush is successful this will be a 17-23 type score, if not, its gonna be both teams over 30 points. Offenses: Joe > Jalen Tee+Chase > Brown+Smith Barkley > Brown+moss TE's Probably a wash Olines slight advantage Eagles Defenses: Trey > Sweat out DT's maybe slight edge? probably a wash Corners probably a wash Safeties maybe a slight edge as vets if Stone plays? if not a wash? LBs: Bengals > eagles i think Thoughts? thinking im missing or overlooking anything? Special teams advantages? Quote
T-Dub Posted October 25 Report Posted October 25 Just in general I think this is going to be a very tough game to win. 2 Quote
Jamie_B Posted October 25 Report Posted October 25 This is a game where were going to need all three phases to play at least good, not great, just good, to pull it off. We've had one or the other hitting this year but not both in the same game. We're going to need that. 1 2 Quote

We simply cannot afford to screw up. And it would be nice to cause and capitalize on a few of their's too. (yeah... duh). Found it interesting that elsewhere on the board in the power rankings the Eagles are ranked higher yet we seem to be picked to win the game. I certainly hope so with the icing on the cake reason that I have $$ on the game. We are also at the point with the Rats having the shield to be protected and the Squeels pulling wins out their wazoo we are almost at the point of one and done. Quote

-GoBengals- Posted October 25 Author Report Posted October 25 The eagles have the fewest forced turnovers in the league I think they said. They have two picks all in week three. None before. None after. so in theory we shouldn’t be fearing turnover issues. the eagles are one of the worst third down teams in the league also at 20-ish%. And 1/13 on third down last week vs the giants. the table is set to run these dudes off the field IF we are solid all around as Jamie mentioned. but even if the defense cracks here and there, it’s certainly possible the offense runs them off the field still. Just all those other thing like ford vs sweat, etc become game deciding factors vs just a speed bump type of problem. hope it’s a fun game. Way offtopic rant: buckeyes parking for games is a fucking joke. Reseller passes are $280 to be anywhere remotely close the the stadium. $20 will put you a 1.2 mile walk from the stadium. The only other option is getting there at like 8am and getting into a cash lot in between those areas. Quote
Cricket Posted October 25 Report Posted October 25 Hey, Go, we had a little back-and-forth regarding our punter (too lazy to look up his name) after last week’s game. Last night, I caught the very tail end of the Rams-Viking game and the Rams’ punter kicked the ball out at the three-yard line (shortly before the officials “missed” one of the most obvious face-mask penalties EVER, on Darnold, in the end zone for a safety to seal the game for the Rams). One of the commentators said, “…and that’s another great punt…”, so I assume he had a similar punt earlier.. it seems like THAT is what we’re missing with our current punter, and we instead count on him to drop the ball down at the ten (which he is good at). I would imagine that he has very limited lateral (left-to-right) control of his punts, so we don’t even try it. I believe our coaches okay with doing what we’re doing…and are hopefully working on the lateral control at practices. 🦗 1 Quote

I’ve seen other’s do it on several occasions. I’m not sure what it will cost to jump out of the plane, but apparently the landing costs you one football. 😎 1 Quote
KA14_HOF Posted October 25 Report Posted October 25 We have to have this one. We're as healthy as could be hoped for, considering how the season started. Philly is good, but if we have any postseason aspirations, we have to show it now. Even tho the Giants were short-handed and the Skidmarks didn't have a QB, the D still has got to be brimming with confidence. I think (hope?) the offense is due to really start clicking. We hung with Mahomes and LamaRB, and should have beat both. This game feels like another one of those games. We're 0-3 at home this year. At some point, there's gotta be a home-field advantage. Now would be a great time for that. I hope Paycor is jet engine-loud every second that the Eagles have the ball. I'm surprised how relaxed I am about this game. I guess because, if we lose, it's a pretty good indication we weren't going anywhere anyway this year. But if we are actually a playoff-caliber team, we will find a way to win this one, instead of finding a way to lose it. We need to see Good Zac on Sunday. 1 Quote

claptonrocks Posted October 25 Report Posted October 25 After a study of Eagles depth I see good and challenging aspects to face.. Eagles Offense front line has been a rough go with L,T Jason Malitola out. Hed been exceptional at LT. Replaced now by former bust Fred Johnson who's been terrible (36,3 pass block rate) Trey Should feast all-day on him. Corners are good not great. Higgins and Chase should have alot of good targets for JaB. Hard to run to their interior but sweeps shoud provide good yrds to keep it in 3rd and short. Their receivers are top notch Dovonte Smith is long lean and can find openings with his cuts. DJ Turner same build more speed but it's a challenge. Hollywood Brown..big strong makes alot if contested catches. Need a physical corner on him which CBT is. Barkley has to be contained .hopefully with our DTs healthy they can stop his yardage to admin mum. Another challenging spot but overall I like our matchup against them. Our Oline had to give JB time to unload for a big game. This is truly. Playoff game.. Eagles are a playoff teamt o date. Win and back in the hunt Lose and all hope fades. Crossroads.... 2 1 Quote

I don’t know how familiar you are with the area surrounding the stadium, but just north of Lane Ave. off of Neil Ave., the streets for about 4 blocks north do offer pay parking, and there are a number of ways you can pay by phone. A lot cheaper and a closer walk. 1 Quote
