Naw, DJ is class. I'm gonna miss him. It's the business side, he didn't go to a competitor he even left the conference. I hope he gets to another Superbowl, and loses to us. lol5 points

You and I would not be “happy” with $45-$47 Bills in less than two years? He will be also. The theatre of it all…and the media eats it hook/line/sinker. And then John Q Fan eats it. It’s what keeps nincompoops in tank tops on the telly employed4 points

its funny this is even news, but with how lazy all aspects of the media are nowadays its expected. both sides pretending, tee didnt request a damn thing, he agent releases the info, and the bengals dont comment on that shit and never have. bengals never overpay, and tee has absolutely zero leverage. he gonna sit out and miss 1.2 million a week paycheck? lol ok. if someone comes offering a good price we can trade. if not he will play. and ya know what? we can tag his ass again next year and STILL be below his asking price. whatever the opposite of leverage is, is what tee higgins has.4 points

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet #Bengals FA WR Trenton Irwin is signing back with Cincy, source said, as he gets a shot at being the third WR. He gets a 1-year deal worth $2M. 12:19 PM · Mar 15, 2024 · 164.8K Views3 points

As I have said many times: each season is its own universe. You have the present—that’s it. Make hay while the sun shines. (BTW: Liverpool is in a great position to win 4 separate Cups this season. They have no guarantees after this one. THAT would be making hay while the sun shines!)3 points

Still think any AFCN team would win that division, but I'd say that about most of them.3 points

Usually on all the free agents whose numbers stand out I watch a highlight video and an interview. He wins both.3 points

IDK, I'm guessing the amount of cash he had to give them to make that whole incident go away was pretty heroic3 points

Late to the party, here, but the whole cut/trade get Mixon out of town deal. Yes, I did not like him. Yes, others I respect did... Jamie, Pattern etc and I am very OK and respect their opinions. But I'm thinking there was something else at play behind the curtain with The Great Wizard Pumpkin we were not seeing. Maybe/probably nothing overt but The Bengals Powers That Be secretly saw or feared something about this guy... a loose cannon with a Glock or Tec.3 points

The Mixon signing is the most insane thing I have ever seen. Why would they do that? They had him for a year already. His market was not going to be anywhere near that.3 points

Those issues are why he's even in play and a possible get. Without all the baggage, injuries, and underachieving - he would be getting a 5 year 140 million contract this off season, as an absolute 'Unit' with length and size that less than a hundred people might have on planet Earth. The Bengals can't afford an RT that has already proven themselves. So this is the best we can hope for and then take one in the draft as well.2 points

Bottom line is we need a RT and if t isn't becton it needs to be someone else and definitely need another decent dt2 points

The 2 first round picks is the required compensation under the CBA if a team declines to match the offer a franchise tagged player gets from another team. The last time a team signed another team's player against their will and paid 2 firsts was about 25 years ago for Sean Gilbert (uncle of Darrelle Revis). A tag and trade is the scenario where a franchised player changes teams for less than 2 firsts, ie Davante Adams. That's what would be in play for Tee if the Bengals are willing to move him for picks or a player. He'd agree to a new contract with some team but not sign one with them. He'd sign his tender from the Bengals, which puts him under contract here and thus makes him tradeable. The trade happens, and he then signs the contract he agreed to with his new team before July 15.2 points

Wow. Well, enjoy retirement. Thanks for ruining our chance to get a championship...ya bastid2 points

Picture this, Bengals coming out of the huddle: Joe in shotgun. Chase and Higgins; Gesicki in the slot; Hudson doing the Hudson-y tight end thing; Sample blocking w/ no one in backfield, or no Sample and Moss in the backfield. Bet we see this a fair bit next year.2 points

Vikings add another first rounder. Trying to collect picks to move up to get a QB I think.2 points

Im just catching up with this thread....but the Ravens have lost a ton this offseason and added just Henry2 points

100%. It’s pretty standard stuff and really, I’d do the same thing if I were his agent (and I’m sure - with Tee’s approval - that is where it’s coming from). Tee doesn’t have much leverage, and they all know it, especially with Mike Brown and fam, who is as stubborn as they come. Yes, Tee could decide not to sign, and choose to sit out. But for his sake, he needs a big year to show he can be healthy and put up big stats to position himself for a long-term bag… and what’s more, he appears to really love the game, given his willingness to sneak in a late-season game this past year, hurt, to help the team). So it’s highly, highly doubtful that he will pass on a $21M payday, which still puts him among the best-paid WRs in the NFL. Personally, I had hoped they’d get him on a longer-term deal, but it really looks like that won’t happen… at least not at this point. Maybe they will get some awesome offer to deal him… or maybe they don’t, and the Bengals decide to franchise him again… who knows. But I firmly expect him to be starting on 2024 opening day, and having a great (and hopefully healthy) season.2 points

Truth is this may be the best chance for the Bengals to make a deep playoff run for awhile. Burrow PLUS Chase’s assumed contract is going to make it more difficult to fill out the roster after this year.2 points

Agree. I'm warming up to Moss+Brown combo now though (And Trayveon lurks).........2 points

Good take Bengals are trying to load up on rushers from any position. No pressure means opposing QBs will stay on field longer and prevent JB on it..2 points

Who dafuq is he?! What an annoying shitbag. Does he bother to check if Mixon was losing steam - ya know, that he took a pay cut last year? Same with our WR3 (minus the pay cut)? Is he familiar with Jonah at all? But Joy - 😍2 points

Blah blah bla He's a Lion now and he'll make a difference once healthy. But he's not a Bengal anymore so he's a potential enemy down the road.2 points

Zach Moss isn’t the sexy signing, but that’s not what the Bengals need out of their RBs. Pass protection was the priority. Mixon was only here because of Mike Brown, the football people wanted him gone last year.2 points
-
Considering they ran the ball less than any team except Washington last year - even with a backup QB - I think you're right that they don't put a high value on the position. It'd make sense that they primarily want RBs to block & catch.2 points

After seeing some of the contracts flying around this FA, I'd be ok with the double tag for sure2 points

First thing came to my mind after he re-signed was that hit and how it changed the perception of passive to aggressive hits by the whole team after that. He set a standard .2 points

Becton is not someone you abandon a 1st round RT for. This would be a huge mistake, if they move up move up to go get Alt. But really they will need to move up in 2 to get Sweat imho2 points

Agreed. Carries per season will tell you a running back’s real NFL age. It is why McCaffrey and Henry have red flags as far as I am concerned. Mixon is right up there. I bet Amish could create a formula that makes sense. Actual Age + ( total carries/365) + (knee ligament injuries * 2) + (# lower leg injuries) = NFL age. Mixon at start of 2024 28 + ((1571/365)+ 0 + 1 = 33.3 NFL age. Henry 30 + (2030/365) + 0 + 1 = 36.6.1 point

AAAAANnnnndd....I just went to look up Deebo Samuel's combine, and it was nearly identical to Tracy's. Both ran a 4.48. Deebo has the faster 10 yard split but Tracy beats him on all other numbers. I think Tracy might actually go in the top 75.1 point

The reality is it’s a 2 year $6.5 mil a year contract. $13 mil guaranteed and they can easily get out after year 2. It is a very reasonable contract.1 point
-
It really is. For some unknown reason, the haters will watch his every move on the Texans, waiting for the first flub before chortling: “aha! I knew it! We win…and get a conditional 7th round pick by unloading this guy on those fools!” Meanwhile, he will get yet another 1,000 yard, 8-10 TD season…and be worth every dime of that contract.1 point

The issue might be that A. Carolina is a terrible organization. B. They don’t want to negotiate with his agent for a new contract.1 point
