not sure if this is 100% accurate. I've read that they've been granted it, and I've read that they are planning to request it.

Who gets released or sent to practice squad in his place? Hopefully it's not Hawkins...I want to see him out there returning punts/kicks.
Hawkins won't be going any where. More likely Rey sent to PS or Roland sent to the street.
BENGALS: Right guard Bobbie Williams is back from his four-game suspension for using a performance-enhancing substance. He could play Sunday at Jacksonville, coach Marvin Lewis said via Bengals.com. Mike McGlynn started at right guard last Sunday after rookie Clint Boling had started the first three games. Hensley's slant: Williams' return is a boost to the running game. He is still the second-best offensive lineman on the team even though he isn't the same player from a few years ago. Look for the Bengals to start running more to the right side, where Williams packs a strong punch.
Bengals ORG Williams to rejoin team

ORG Bobbie Williams will rejoin the Bengals on a roster exemption after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, the team announced Monday.

The exemption means that Williams can participate in team activities without counting against the 53-man roster for a week. After the week is up, the team will have to release someone else off the active roster to make room for Williams, or release him.

The way we see it
Williams has been a key contributor on the Bengals' offensive line, with 109 starts in seven seasons with the team.

Rookie Clint Boling has been solid in pass protection but had difficulties in the run game. Williams has been a strong run blocker throughout his career and could help open some holes for RB Cedric Benson.

Bengals RG Bobbie Williams shed 12 pounds while working out during his four-game suspension.
He should return in pretty good shape. The Bengals have had no continuity at right guard in Williams' absence, so his return figures to provide a boost to an offensive line that has held its own in run blocking despite missing perhaps its best run blocker. Pro Football Focus has rated the Cincinnati line as a top-14 unit in run blocking and top-11 in pass protection

*And with that. Its time to stop bitching about the line too. Its not rated the best, but it is far from the worst. Other teams are going to get to the quarterback. Its football. As long as the young buck continues to make plays. Everything will be alright.

No creditably.

may not be a reputable source ... but know that the Bengals line isn't as bad as some....
we would have no freaking chance if we had the stealers or bears line.... they are both the suck....

i just hope Bobbie comes in with some attitude and plays great.....

He was before he got hurt in 2009. He hardly played in 2010.

and is sucking ass in 2011
That's because he doesn't have the greatness of Paul Alexander coaching him.

:ninja:

Anyway, it doesn't change the fact that he did play well in 2009.

That pocket collapses so fast in front of Andy. I'm not saying they are the biggest turds of all time, but Andy is taking three steps drop and Cook/Boiling/Livings are being drove right back into him.

They still need to improve the interior line and I wouldn't be against a new RT as well with Andre moving inside. I think that would be the best possible scenario, but it won't happen being paid like a LT.

just because their opinion on one guy is wrong doesn't mean their opinion on every guy is wrong. I'm not saying our oline is playing well enough by any means, but the site doesn't have "no credibility" just because they got one analysis seemingly wrong.

Everyone and their mother said Livings sucked, and he's been great this season.

I don't think Andy has been under seige, but more of the breakdowns in pass pro have come from the right side. Andre has been pretty good overall, but he seems to get eaten up a few times per game. Boling struggled, as did McGlynn vs SF, but he did better last week.

Tyson Alu-Alu will be a challenge for the interior of the line this week.

I'll admit that coming into the season I wanted to see him upgraded, but he played off and on in 2010 and played well in 2009. He had some good games last year, the Carolina game particularly comes to mind.

That's still doesn't change the overall point which you conveniently ignored.
