I think it rhymes with Rob Ratkowski

Dirk Nowitski plays for Dallas and he plays basketball. He has nothing to do with Atlanta.

Well, Carson's stats today were as good as Chad's.

Your pretty stat board failed to mention he ran the WRONG route yesterday and Brady's only throw to him sailed by. He then exited the field never to be seen again. He was only in on 7 plays. Talk about being in the dog house!! Its the bye week so there is a good chance the Pats look somewhere else for help and release him.

Wow. Not to hi-jack the thread, but I loved Chad when he was here and wished him well when he left. But, wow, just doesn't seem to be working out as a Patriot.

There was a reference to "The Red Green Show" last night on John Popovich's Sports of All Sorts show. I thought it was pretty funny, but its probably a reference lost on most Bengals fans I would guess, especially the younger crowd.

Andy Dalton challenging Cam Newton for rookie QB supremacy

Posted by Michael David Smith on October 17, 2011, 12:27 PM EDT

Cam Newton has been a great story this season, a first overall pick performing even better than expected and putting up huge numbers for the Panthers. But don’t be too quick to coronate Newton as this year’s best rookie quarterback.

Andy Dalton of the Bengals has, like Newton, started every game this season. But unlike Newton, Dalton is putting up good numbers while his team is winning games.

On Sunday against the Colts, Dalton completed 25 of 32 passes for 264 yards, with a touchdown and no interceptions, for a passer rating of 111.5 on the day. It was the third time in six starts that Dalton has had a passer rating above 100, and his passer rating on the season is a solid 84.3. Newton’s passer rating is 78.3.

In terms of fantasy football numbers, Dalton can’t compare to Newton: Newton has 500 more passing yards than Dalton, and Newton also has six rushing touchdowns to Dalton’s one. But Dalton and Newton have the same number of passing touchdowns (seven apiece), and Newton has thrown nine interceptions to Dalton’s five. Dalton’s completion percentage is better than Newton’s as well.

And, of course, there’s the little matter of Dalton leading his team to a 4-2 record, making the Bengals one of the pleasant surprises of the season. Newton has racked up a lot of his big numbers while trying unsuccessfully to bring the 1-5 Panthers back while they were trailing in the second half.

Dalton has only had one really bad game, his two-interception effort in a loss to the 49ers. But aside from the fourth quarter and overtime against Tony Romo, the 49ers’ defense has made every quarterback look bad this season. There’s no shame in struggling against San Francisco.

Dalton’s stats also compare favorably to the stats Sam Bradford put up last season while winning the offensive rookie of the year award in St. Louis. And Dalton’s stats compare favorably to the 2010 numbers of Benglas quarterbackCarson Palmer, too.

Obviously, Dalton isn’t doing it all himself. The Bengals’ 1-2 punch at wide receiver this year, A.J. Green and Jerome Simpson, has been an improvement over last year’s combination of Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco. And offensive tackles Andrew Whitworth and Andre Smith are playing very well — they shut down the Colts’ pass-rush combination of Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis.

But Whitworth pointed to Dalton after the game when asked what the difference is for this year’s Bengals.

“And this guy right here made the plays,” Whitworth said. “Dalton had a heck of a day. It’s all on him. It’s Andre and I’s job to keep people off him. He executed and he did what he had to do and that’s what he continues to. He comes in with a game plan and if things don’t go exactly right he stays with the game plan.”

Dalton has been following the game plan all year. And his production has been even better than the Bengals could have planned.

Bye week for Patsies is this week. The time would be now to make a move. Two weeks to practice and get ready. They only carry 5 wrs on their roster but use their TEs a ton. I don't know anything about the rookie Taylor Price.

Not sure who is out their that could help but Ocho aint doing it and at this point there is simply no more excuses left. 6 games in he should be getting better and getting more reps not worse and less.

wrong route? not possible, #85 needs to go to the Packers so he can go to a team with a QB that won't hold him back.

LOL, Yeah, that Brady asshole expects too much like running the play that was called and what not. Chad needs to be his own man!

Chad is on pace for 24 catches for 363 yards and 0 tds.

Laveranues Coles season with us resulted in 43 catches for 514 yds and 5tds. He was released and never played again and he was 32 years old.

Chad is staring DONE in the face.
I continue to be impressed and probably a bit surprised at how well Andy Dalton is doing as the QB of the Bengals. He will live in the shadows of Cam Newton but he is really showing signs of being a terrific QB.
1. Undisputable fact: Cam Newton is 1-5 and Andy Dalton is 4-2. Apples, oranges, sure, and I love Newton, but this Dalton kid has something special. He throws with conviction, makes big plays in crunch time and now seems to have the offense in his grasp. The Bengals are a strange 4-2 team, but 4-2 nonetheless.

Dalton winning more than first-rounders

October, 19, 2011
By Jamison Hensley

Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton was taken in the second round, but he's winning more than his first-round counterparts. That point was made by NFC South blogger Pat Yasinskas in his weekly "QB Watch."

Dalton has led Cincinnati to a 4-2 start while two first-round picks -- Carolina's Cam Newton(first overall) and Jacksonville's Blaine Gabbert (10th) -- have a combined 1-9 record as starters. Minnesota's Christian Ponder, the 12th overall pick, makes his first start Sunday.

There's no question that this is Dalton's team now after the Bengals traded holdout quarterback Carson Palmer to the Raiders on Tuesday.

“The quarterback, he is our centerpiece, and we develop offense through Andy,’’ Cincinnati coach Marvin Lewis said. “Everything we do comes through Andy. People asked me, ‘How are you going to be with a young quarterback?’ Well, a young quarterback is going to be our offense and he is going to be what our offense is. You can see what we do and we do it through him. That’s why we felt so good about this guy.”
