VonBlade
Do you think we should pick him up? He's got to be better than some of our guys and we can always keep him on the practise squad for depth. Thoughts?
turningpoint
He'll land a dc spot on the offseason, could very easily be here, if u know who get's a HC job.
B.A.B.
I would be a-ok with him gettin the DC job here if Zimmer, and it sounds more and more like he will, gets a HC job.
The PatternMaster
I would love to see Del Rio as a DC, he can help get our lb's to the next level. I think he got a raw deal with the talent level, in this pass happy league Jax has the worst qb's & wr's in the NFL. Gabbart is not good, at all and he's the best option. If Jason Hill is your best wr then you are in trouble. Gene Smith should be shown the door too because he's the one who put this gawd awful team together. The Jags defense is actually pretty good but they don't get any support from their offense so they get worn down and eventually give up points late, if Jax had a capable qb Del Rio would still have his job. Cutting Garrad a day before the season started sealed his fate, happy trails Jack it was a hell of a ride.

mongo
If Jacksonville had ever had a quarterback, I think Del Rio would have been very successful. You just can't face Manning twice a year with buttheads like Leftwich and Garrard.

mongo
I'm not in any hurry to get rid of Marvin as the coach, nor am I in any hurry to see if Zimmer can actually be a head coach. I think Marvin is doing a heck of a job coaching this year, and I'm looking forward to more of that. I sure hope Zimmer stays as DC, but I wouldn't want to bump Marvin because Zimmer might leave. Tigris
This Jay Gruden HC job shit is crazy. No President/Owner/GM is going to hire a one year coordinator to run his entire program. I'm not saying Gruden would or wouldn't make a great HC, I have no idea, but the idea of it is insane. Whoever would make the decision and risk their franchise's fate for the next 5-8 years would be an idiot.
Tigris
Also, if Gruden would leave before he established any sort of legacy here, he's making the wrong decision. If I were him, I would build up my rep (3-4 seasons of good, high quality offenses) and basically pick where I wanted to go. No high school kid will join UCLA just because Gruden is the HC. Now, if he gets his name out there and establishes his own brand, yeah, he might get a few commits because of his name and what he's accomplished over multiple years in the NFL. I still think this is crazy talk.

Further, Harbaugh was never more than a special teams coordinator. I don't think he'll get a HC job anywhere, but Gruden isn't exactly lacking HC experience. BENGALS666
Why the hell would our fans consider this turd at all? Tags and brands is all some people see I guess. HC of an NFL team that showed up late and left early on a daily basis to replace Zimmer? You must be out of your damn minds.. His handling of QBs is enough of a warning sign all by itself.. [/quote] For one, word out of Jacksonville is that that Gararrd issue was a front office decision not a coaching one, in order to free up $8 million to make the team more attractive for sale, which came to fruition today. Second, the entire coaching staff was told before the season that they were going to be fired if the team didn't make the playoffs. I wouldn't put too much stock into Del Rio's performance this year. Vol_Bengal
Are we even sure Del Rio can be a good DC? He had a DC in Jax and that person actually got the interim job. Who was making their defense so good - Del Rio or the actual DC? I guess I'm not as sold on Del Rio as some of you guys are. At least give me something that says he'd make a good one. Also - I can't believe ANY NFL owner would hire a 1 year coordinator to run his whole football program. Gruden may be able to do it in time, but seems a bit early right now.
