Andy other than the INT

Gio

Getting the ball spread around

Marvin Jones and Sanu

The Bad

Jay playing tressel ball at the end

Jay's play calling was up and down

Gresh wasn't really involved in the passing game

Got to play better on the road

The Ugly

defense for some reason just has a tough time against young qbs, but they found a way to get a win today.

Dalton looked really good besides the INT. Cut out the dumb mistakes and he'll be fine.

How about Tate with maybe the biggest play of the day??

Amazing how quickly a  good solid looking game turned into a very ugly win...

meh who cares. A wins a win.

Good:

Andy other than the INT, and deep throw into double coverage

first half rushing

Gruden's playcalling - best called game of the season and best since Chicago.  The stuff they did in the first half, they should be running every week.

Bad:

D struggled for much of the day.

Penalties

Burfict Penalties - he had 3 personal fouls today (though one was kind of BS).

2nd half run game.

Nuge/Alex Smith costing the team 3 points and almost the win.

Ugly:

What the hell was Zimmer thinking putting Dunlap on an athletic TE on a 4th down?

Gruden with BJGE on the sidelines on a 3rd and short in a pivotal moment.

Good - dline, online, qb, backs, Wrs.

Bad- coaching. Classic playing not to lose. Got stuck on 24 despite not seeing Huber until 4th qtr. I just got to think that's coaching mentality. Early in the game they were smoking them left and right.

Great- 1st place.

Ugly -come on Zim. 2 Td passes by a practice squad qb in the 4th qtr? What the fuck?

Tate needs to be in the good category, he put us in fg range with that return.

Nuge saved himself from being the goat by hitting the game winner.

Dalton had a solid day, would have been excellent without that pick.

Refs were bad. Too many ticky tack flags, some going each away but more against us

I'm actually not as troubled by our letting go of the lead in this game as in others in the past.

I mentioned in the game that the missed FG was going to be huge, and it was.  That was a serious momentum killer and you could feel that it was going to energize the Bills and their crowd.

Also, their Offense basically gashed us for taking risks on Defense by running some bad blitzes.

I was thrilled to see the steps our Offense took today against a very good D.  The OFfensive line made a MAJOR improvement today.

But more than anything, the ability of Dalton to really look to his other options and find Jones, Sanu, and especially Gio was just everything.  When was the last time we had a QB who would drop passes into a RB's breadbasket coming out of the backfield like that?  And when was the last time that the RB caught it that he turned on some fucking JETS like that?  Great stuff.

I think the 4th down call with Dunlap on the TE isn't as bad as it seemed. Iloka was supposed to help over the top but blew his assignment and went to double cover someone on the other side. He probably didn't see Chandler release and figured he'd be blocking.

We got a win and the offense/dalton looked pretty good most the game against a solid D. Thats what I wanted most out of this game.

Defense will be fine, we needed a game where the offense could get some momentum and confidence and I think this will.

Great job of spreading the ball around too. 3 guys went over 100 total yards (AJ, Gio and MJ) and BJGE came close with 86. 4 guys over 86 yards is solid.

Good
- Marvin Jones was excellent... Catching, running, blocking. Sanu solid as well.
- Andy had a solid game overall. Bad INT but made some really nice throws and plays with his feet
- Gio as a receiver, BJ ran hard all day, a lot of manageable 3rd downs
- Run D against a very good running team was solid overall
- Solid ST coverage, Tate had a nice return at the end

Bad
- Adam Jones, both in coverage and as a returner
- Gresham had one of those "in a fog" games
- Run game in the 4th quarter
- Taze penalties - he had 2 or 3 personal fouls

Ugly
- ST penalties, especially Alex Smith one on FG
- Nugent shanking a chip shot
- Defensive play calling on 2 4Q Buffalo TDs
- Newman, who has played really well all year, making the cardinal sin on the Goodwin TD

Edit: that 4th down pass to Sanzenbacher was great - excellent throw, even better catch!

Yeah this was noted on Radio broadcast. Iloka might have fucked up.

another bad:  Adam Jones.  Wish he'd start stringing consecutive great games together.  Struggled in coverage today and fielded a punt inside the 10 (that he almost fumbled).

Beautiful:  Shaping up to be a near perfect day for the Bengals.  They win, Cleveland loses, Baltimore loses, the Jets lose, Houston loses, Tennessee won't likely win IN seattle.  Only nice change would have been a Chiefs loss.

...and Marvin Jones...

"Cat Scratch Fever"

Well, I don't know where they come from but they sure do come
I hope they comin' for me
And I don't know how they do it but they sure do it good
I hope they're doin' it for free

They give me cat scratch fever
Cat scratch fever

Well, the first time that I got it I was just ten years old
I got it from some kitty next door
An' I went to see the doctor and he gave me the cure
I think I got it some more

They give me cat scratch fever
Cat scratch fever
I got a bad scratch fever
The cat scratch fever

It's nothin' dangerous
I feel no pain
I've got the choo-choo train
You know you got it when you, you're going insane
It makes a grown man cry, cry, oh won't you make my bed

Well, I make the pussy purr with the stroke of my hand
They know they gettin' it from me
They know just where to go when they need their lovin' man
They know I'm doin' it for free

I give them cat scratch fever
Cat scratch fever
They got a bad scratch fever
The cat scratch fever

The playcalling on D for the 2 tds seemed very bad and not having your power back in when you needed just a few yards was bad. Also allowing a practice squad QB and journeyman RB to run on you was bad as well.

The rest was good.  We lead the division.

Who was the journey man RB that ran on us?
