Keeping our Enemies Close 2015-16 Edition

Recommended Posts

I watched the first half of Bills@Browns last night.  Cleveland's D was laying the wood on dudes, and it was all within the rules.  Hopefully they looked so good because the Bills suck so bad.

Cleveland's defense is no joke, there's some talent there.  Their DB's have been kinda shaky behind Haden. Gipson the FS had an ok year, he's still improving.

Josh Gordon & Manziel drama, coaching turnover & their grabass drafting in general is the problem in Cleveland.  Long may it stink.

Watching HBO HK and thinking they could've stuck with Crennel.

Stealers sign Michael Vick

Michael Vick

AP

Michael Vick is back in the NFL, as Ben Roethlisberger’s backup.

The Stealers announced this evening that they have signed Vick and placed Bruce Gradkowski, who had been slated as the backup quarterback, on injured reserve.

The 35-year-old Vick is a far cry from the star he once was, and he’s coming off a season in which he was largely disappointing when he played for the Jets. But he was the best veteran quarterback available to the Stealers when Gradkowski got hurt.

If Roethlisberger stays healthy, Vick may never see the field in Pittsburgh. But if Roethlisberger goes down, the Stealers know they have a backup with experience.

They deserve each other.

I certainly wouldn't mind if that Stephon Tuitt ankle injury (Stealers DE/DT) spilled over to keep him out of the opener against the Patriots.  That injury wasn't as bad as Pouncey's fracture, but looked bad enough to slow him down into September.  The Stealers downplayed it and it required no surgery, but it was rather nasty on tape.

Raiders lose Menelik Watson to ruptured Achilles tendon

Menelik Watson

Raiders starting right tackle Menelik Watson suffered a serious injury in Sunday night’s preseason game.

Watson tweeted after the game that he has ruptured his Achilles tendon. That is almost always a season-ending injury.

The Raiders’ second-round pick in 2013, Watson was a project when he was drafted: He grew up in England and had played only two seasons of football in his life. But he started nine games last year and all three preseason games and was projected to be the Week One starter at right tackle this year. Instead he’ll spend the year rehabbing.

“I will be back stronger than ever that’s a promise. Main thing is supporting the team right now,” Watson wrote on Twitter. “To the Raider Nation I love you so much. There is NO I mean NO fanbase like ours. Thank you for all the support.”

Watson was replaced by Austin Howard in the Raiders’ lineup on Sunday night, and Howard is now projected as Oakland’s starting right tackle.
