HOF dan
just reading over at bengals.com and see where Jake Fisher had heart surgery. I usually keep up pretty well on things but I certainly didn't see that anywhere before. I knew he had an "illness" but never heard any details till now. You guys hear about this? fluhartz
First time ever even hearing about it.. not sure how serious..but any time 'heart' and 'surgery' are in the same sentence it sounds serious to me..
Griever
Wow, I had no idea but I agree with fluhartz, doesn't sound good.
fredtoast
Bengal team physicians originally treated the condition by giving Fisher one of these They assured him it would fix the problem.
HOF dan
Wierd because Hobson kind of casually drops it an a sentence and moves on. It's mentioned in the "Bengals trying to recapture the run" story.

|schotzee|
Not that I expected him to need surgery but it shouldn't be a total surprise. They said he had an irregular heartbeat or something earlier.

Le Tigre
Looks as though he had the surgery in mid-November: https://www.cincyjungle.com/2017/11/14/16653922/jake-fisher-underwent-successful-heart-surgery
UncleEarl
Most likely he had heart ablation surgery. They burn a section of heart to stop abnormal electrical impulses that screw up your heart rhythm. Not as serious as open heart or anything like that, but a serious situation none the less. Hope it works for him. Its not all that uncommon to see this an abnormally large athletes.
TimKrumrieFan
They mentioned it heavily back when he was put on IR weeks back. They said he'd need a small procedure on his heart. By they I mean the local media. Not sure hobknob said much before.
|SF2|
Its actually a pretty common and safe surgery if it is what I think it is. Ablation is a minor procedure that stops the heart from beating erratically or out of rhythm. He will be fine.
|Bunghole|
My Dad had to have this done about a year after his second triple bypass due to his heart skipping beats. In his case they used a laser to burn scar tissue off his heart, and he's fine now.

|Bunghole|
He'll be back soon. He's only 76, but insiders indicate that he plays like he's 54, so once he puts on a little more weight, he'll be challenging Huber for the Eternal Punter Position.
