I dunno about that.

Playing in a division with Russel Wilson and Pat Mahomes though, the Chargers are definitely going to be picked 3rd until they prove otherwise.

Herbert is already a more highly regarded QB than Wilson.

What have the Chargers done to fix their bad run defense?

They've added Khalil Mack who is a good edge defender and might add Jordan Davis in round 1.

Wut??? Herbert is NOT a more highly regarded QB than Wilson yet.  He hasn’t accomplished anything more than Rivers did the last 5 seasons.

Let’s see how he does in his first playoff game first.

But but Herbert has a stronger arm and all..

No wait I think Wilson's is as strong.

I think Denver has the edge on Chargers now..

Herbert had a much better season than Wilson last year. He's also a lot younger and cheaper. If offered a choice, no GM in the NFL would take Wilson over Herbert.

Herbert plays on a team with a pass first mindset and with a very good defense.  He had 262 more pass attempts than Wilson.

Pete Carroll still thinks it’s 2008 and his defense is great.  His offensive scheme is an antiquated run first hold over from their Super Bowl win.  That is why Wilson wanted out.

Depends on the situation.  Denver thinks they can win a Super Bowl now. A guy who is 9-7 (should be 10-6) with a Super Bowl victory (should be 2) and a 97 passer rating in the playoffs is a much better option than a guy with 2 years of experience and zero playoff appearances.

Sure, if you are rebuilding, you obviously take Herbert.

Not really Mack is a pass rusher not as much of a run defender. And I'm not banking on might in the 1st. Or by your standard on our oline they shouldn't bank on a rookie.

They probably would cut Zeke, but the way his contract is structured it would cost them $30 million in dead money.  They could actually lose cap space.

Thank God the Bengals didn’t do something stupid like that with Mixon.
Elliot and McCaffrey are the poster children for what can happen if you overpay for a running back.
