Jim Irsay: NFL admits incorrect calls were made to end Colts, Browns game

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay aired out some dirty laundry Tuesday, making it known that the NFL admitted to making incorrect calls at the end of the Week 7 game against the Cleveland Browns.

Irsay also is calling for the league to institute instant replay reviews of all plays during the final two minutes in all games to avoid a similar situation.

“The NFL admits and understands that they did not make the correct calls at end of Sunday’s Colts/Browns Game. I believe we need to institute Instant Replay for all calls, including Penalties, in the last two minutes of All Games.”

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Only part of the article which is not a bad read at all, worth a few minutes.

Number of X clips of the calls most of which have been posted here previously.

Too little, too late, but I admire Irsay for calling it out.

Wonder if he'll get fined for disclosing this? This type of discussions are not supposed to be aired out.

Gotta love the way Watson is milking his contract.

Jeez

I could see them trying to get out from that contract next offseason, if possible, which it doesn't seem likely...he's going to be poster boy for why you don't give out fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL because he's been dumpster fire from day 1 and it's not looking like it is going to improve anytime soon.

You have a QB with the most guaranteed money of any player in NFL history getting benched for a guy that was playing in the XFL a few months ago...that's not a good ROI incase you were wondering.

Watson has a cap hit of 64$ million for the next 3 seasons, the Browns can't realistically get out this contract until 2027 without a significant cap hit and dead money on their books...the Browns are stuck with guy, so they might as well play the long game.

It weird that is his coach keeps throwing him under the bus to the media tho because it's far easier to get rid of the coach than the QB with the worst contract in pro sports that literally no other team will trade for because of his contract.

^ The Browns have to hope Rub&Tug gets arrested for more rapes or hit by a bus, as that's the only way they are getting out of his contract (negotiated by Tee Higgin's agent btw).

They are on the books for 192 million of the cap over the next 3 years ... so if he stays sucking (almost guaranteed), then the team is basically deciding to play with only 75% of the cap compared to the rest of the NFL. A catastrophic clusterfuck of a deal. Fitting for the Mistake on the Lake

I don't know who is up for contract negotiations in the next couple of years on the Browns, but they don't have any really big names other than Myles Garrett and Nick Chubb that they may need to try to re-sign so they may be able to absorb it as long as they don't go after any big name free agent cornerbacks or wide receivers.

I've said all along that Watson is not the savior of this franchise.

The agent is just doing his job, the Browns were the idiots who agreed to the deal, no one forced them to offer that much money. He's also the same agent for Jessie Bates who we couldn't reach an agreement with, I'm not too confident we will get one done with Higgins either.

The Stealers are so delusional, they have been the beneficiaries of so many calls that when they don't get everything handed to them on a silver platter they can't understand why they are not getting the calls. Their whole franchise is built on the NFL ignoring steroid use in the '70s and a missed call, the immaculate reception that was really an incomplete pass.  They are like spoiled teenagers who are told to figure it out on their own, but they would rather whine about it to the media...what a clown...enjoy that 10k fine..

As far as I am concerned they can enjoy the next decade of being a mediocre team. Fuck them.
