If he does that again this weekend in Pissturd, you can bet he’ll get flagged for it. i LOVE the enthusiasm, but you gotta be smart about it. 🦗

I can see their reasoning due to injury this late. I just don't see a team willing or interested in acquiring a 35 yr old on the downside for the money owed him

Seattle sent a fourth-round pick back to Denver along with Wilson.

How does a GM make that trade unless pressured by the owner?
sparky151
They not only overpaid for Wilson in the trade but gave him a new contract before he had played a down for the Broncos. They could have done a "try before you buy" season and would have at most had to tag him for a year. Instead they will lose and additional 150 million on the deal.

Or maybe the team, to include the players, are tired of a moody, phony, overpaid, very average Prima Donna QB leading the team and are moving on. They have an 8% chance of making the playoffs and quite frankly, Jarrett Stidham is just as capable an average QB as Wilson. He hasn’t surpassed 260 yards once in his last 12 games and plays for Sean Peyton.

Yeah, they pretty much have to find a suitor to take over part of that disastrous deal. It does save them REAL money going forward. So what do you figure? Atlanta, Minnesota, New England, Raiders, Giants??, Washington and Chicago (bridge QB).

With Peyton, maybe call the whole mix of the Mules an experiment which produced some real chances for the postseason during the season. The visual is, however, the ownership quitting on the remainder of the season which--even if only 8%--is still not over.
|High School Harry|
CLEVELAND (WJW) — The Cleveland Browns’ stellar kicker Dustin Hopkins is out for the week after sustaining a hamstring injury during Sunday’s winning game against the Houston Texans, the team announced Tuesday. At this time, the injury is considered week-to-week (let's go for two). It’s just more bad news in a string of major injuries for the Browns😢, who, despite it all are 10-5 on the season and looking to solidify a playoff spot this Thursday. No team will take on his current contarcat and no team will sign a new one with him (becuase he wont rip his up, at least not for 2024) - so every team will wait for his release then for 2024 they can sign him for the leaugue minimum and the Broncos pay him for 2024.

Yep. Broncos won't find a trade partner between day 1 of the league year (when the trading window opens) and day 5 when Wilson's injury guarantee turns into a full guarantee. So they'll have to release him, probably with the post-June 1 designation to spread the dead money hit over 2 seasons. Wilson has an offset clause in his contract so whatever a new team pays him reduces the Bronco's obligation to him. So he doesn't stand to make any more money by haggling with a new team and may sign for vet minimum plus some incentives if he likes the situation. The question is whether any team wants him as their starter in 2024. My guess is no, he'll have interest as a veteran backup QB. That's assuming Cousins and Mayfield stay with their current teams. I had Wilson on my fantasy roster this year and he actually wasn't too bad. His passing numbers are comparable to Lamar Jackson's.
