You all jinxed him! He jinxed himself! I’m in a Facebook group and the other day everyone was crowing about how this was Burrow’s first normal preseason and I said 🤫🤐

As an aside ... I would think this makes Joe more likely to want to sign his extension ASAP.

Although this looks like it was not a serious injury, imagine if he had blown out both knees, with 200 million dollars in guarantees sitting on the table.

It also might make Tee reconsider playing out this year, or even this preseason without getting himself a nice signing bonus as well from an extension. Especially since he has not made that much money yet as a 2nd rd pick. He could have 50 million in guarantees sitting on the table.

Maybe it was watching our boy get sacked eleventyhundred times over the past couple of years but I guess I must be desensitized at this point.  Of course I want him to stay healthy but I also recognize that it's completely out of my hands.  It's up to the organization and plain dumb luck.

... I wish I was. I have the opposite. PTSD anxiety, as if it was my own son out there (and I don't even have kids). 😖

Curious if the tightness he had the day before could have prevented this if he got it messaged?

Next time something hurts enough to need a sleeve, they need to keep him out of practice.

He is the entire season. The one indispensable piece to the entire organization.

Really hard to do when the face of your franchise loves to practice and was looking forward to his first full participation training camp ever. Just listen to his words at the press conference the day before where he talked about how important every practice is. But once again the training camp football gods just laughed and said "Fuck you, Joe."

I've worn calve sleeves for muscle soreness a few times it can be tough to tell sometimes what is just stuff you work through and are fine once it's warm and what you should back off from

Of course I'm also not a professional athlete who knows his body like they do, or have trainers that can help with it

I don't think the team is as close to a Burrow contract as others do.

However, with him now sidelined, I think they have more time to focus on getting one done.

Hopefully I am proven wrong and he signs in the next 3 hours.

I don't think that's much of an incentive considering he will be getting a raise that'll make $4.5m look like peanuts. I'm sure the team would be just fine with paying the bonus and keeping him on his rookie salary.

Reminds me of a work story many moons ago , in the early days of work emails. Anyway, one of the staff (a female) sent out an email that was reminding everyone she would be off next week because she was getting married on Saturday and of "coarse" (my quotes) she would be on her honeymoon.

And someone repsonded by saying congratulations but I hope your honeymoon is anything but coarse.
