5: BAL 9-5

6: DEN 9-5

7: LAC 8-6

---

IND 6-8

MIA 6-8

CIN 6-8

We've ot a new scenario!

We win out (CLE, DEN, at PIT)

IND lose 1 (TEN, at NYG, JAX)

MIA lose 1 (SFF. at CLE, at NYJ)

DEN lose 3 (at LAC, at CIN, KCC)

Or

We win out (CLE, DEN, at PIT)

IND lose 1 (TEN, at NYG, JAX)

MIA lose 1 (SFF. at CLE, at NYJ)

LAC lose 3 (DEN, at NEP, at LVR)

This is the first I've heard LAC being mentioned, but when I saw a few minutes ago that DEN had jumped over them, I thought they should be. One of these scenarios will get eliminated by this Thursday's game DEN @ LAC. Who are we rooting for? I say LAC, because we control the next game with DEN and LAC has easier games in the last two.

Sadly, I don't think any of these are going to work out for the Bengals in the end. :(

TBH, I don't see LAC losing to -both- of their final opponents (Pats, Raiders) so if Denver beats them I think it's game over for us.

Denver loses, then loses to us (cause we gotta go 3-0), leaves DEN to play the Chefs. I like DENs chances to go 0-1 vs KC better than LACs chances to go 0-2 vs NEP/LVR.

So for me... go Chargers.

But at least if we win we're still mathematically alive because ONE of them's gotta lose next week.

The Clots are comically bad:

Cant embed, just follow the link and watch the play on YT. If the link isn't available, go to YT and cut/paste this into the search bar:

Another knuckle-dragging cretin who thinks leaping, twisting backwards, spreading his legs and grabbing his penis as he crosses the goal line is something other than disgusting & perverted.

Go Chargers Thurs night ...

We'd also need the Dolphins to lose at the Jets and the Colts to lose at home to the Jags, provided neither lost in Week 16 or Week 17.

The concerns would be Kansas City still having something to play for vs Denver, and us winning in Pittsburgh.

Buffalo should win out. (NE, NYJ, @NE) That gets them to 14-3. Kansas City needs to lose at home vs Houston to drop to 13-2 (a very high probability if Mahomes can't play). KC can then beat Pittsburgh to get to 14-2, and then need to beat Denver to secure home-field advantage.

If Pittsburgh can beat the Ravens next week, they would clinch the division. Losing to KC the following week would mean all they would have to play for in Week 18 vs Cincinnati would be whether they get seeded #3 or #4, depending on how Houston does. (Texans would own the tie-breaker over Pittsburgh)

So the Colts & Fish need to lose once apiece over the next 3 weeks. Chargers need to beat the Broncos on Thursday. Houston and Pittsburgh need to beat Kansas City and Baltimore, respectively, on Saturday. And KC needs to beat Pittsburgh in Week 17. All while we win out.

Then in Week 18, KC will have to beat Denver to get home-field, and Pittsburgh will have virtually nothing to play for.

I wont be completely surprised if the Chiefs sit Mahomes this week against the Texans as they are 2 games ahead of Buffalo and they have to play the 21st and 25th.

I'd bet they sit him for the Texas game on the 21st and let him play against the Steelers on Xmas day

If they sit him against the Texans and they lose that still gives them a 1 game lead over Buffalo, but Buffalo would have the tie breaker, which means they would play him the rest of the season. Which would help us if they can beat Denver.

This of course has a prerequisite that the Chargers and us also beat Denver.

Agreed. I'm just going to focus on the negative and root against Bwaldimore.

If the Bengals sneak into the playoffs they are capable of winning it all

Of course that would need to win every game 42-38, but they can certainly hang with anyone.

that seems very unlikely. even if they managed to sneak in, there are a few teams we could beat, but the eagles aint one of them, i doubt the bills are either. like a first round faceoff vs the chiefs or steelers we have a remote chance.. but bills are rolling eagles are a smoke show.

Ugh, colts still need to lose one more? I thought that loss was enough :(

That's gonna be the hard one. Giants, Jags, Titans. Go Titans, bounce back game for Levis.

jags could possibly beat them also. all of those teams are terrible. colts could go 3-0 or 0-3 and i dont think anyone would be shocked.

We're not making the playoffs. We should beat Cleveberg but may well be underdogs to Denver and likely are at Pissburgh.

seems unlikely. but is somehow possible.

id almost prefer they didnt at this point. lets get young guys reps and get to the offseason.

yes id imagine we will be underdogs to playoff teams.

I don’t picture you as the “get better draft position” type. You watch enough NBA—after the first 5 picks, everything is a crapshoot.

I figure that…much like last season…May as well win. Getting to 9-8…whether they make the playoffs or not…will help with the overall attitude of the team going forward.

Of course, none of us has an iota of control over what they do or don’t do.

im definetly not a "tank for picks" guy, i debate my son often about it, im cool if we win each game and dont make the playoffs just the same, like id like watching it and be nice to give joe and zach and front office another postseason credential, but if the team cant win it all im ok with it ended if it must.

getting these young guys reps is key, and could be life changing for them, being a 5th CB on a depth chart isnt going to get you many jobs, but have 8 games of highlights, if several of them are decent, like Newton, you can earn yourself several more chances with teams, filling in these games for those type guys, Wilson, Newton, Ivey will probably net then millions in lingering contracts down the road as backups or team or PS guys. I am alsays rooting for the underdog athlete chasing his dreams. nothing in the world cooler in that realm than a guy undervalued getting a shot and making somerthing of it.. also why i liked preseason so much back in the day. seeing guys get snaps, then go to the stands and hug thier families, THATS what life is all about, and those moments were created by sports. I know i bring up my damn kid too much, but in his last game team was getting smoked by like 30, so he got extra minutes, played like 26 minutes instead of like 18, and he was kicking some ass on defense, made a killer black, got a few steals, stole some rebounds away from way taller kids, im sitting in the stands holding back tears watching him have a blast and work hard and living his dream. they can lose by 400 for all i care. he's gonna be better player next game for getting those minutes, smarter, faster, etc.

Same thing watching the Bengals or Nuggets, im bought into the team and its success, but there is so much to enjoy outside of that part. seeing dudes lives get changed. And those teo teams in particular dont tend to want to bring in the shitty attitude douschebag players everyone hates, the Embiids, the Ramseys, the Lebrons, the Odell Beckham Jr tantrum throwers. so its so much easier to care about the players and watch their lives progress on and off the field. See dudes i used to talk to like John Thorton raise his kids next to my work in Kenwood back in the day, kids went to local schools, went on to play sports, he is a baller ass agent for Roc Sports, love to see it all come full circle for guys.

the bengals having having so many "championship or we suck and everyone needs fired" fans is wild, never done it... so how is that your bar.

enjoy life, that shits far too short.

Colts remaining opponents:  Tennessee, Giants, Jacksonville

Miami remaining opponents: San Francisco, Cleveland, Giants

Denver remaining opponents: Chargers, Us, Kansas City

Could be interesting with lots of variables down to Kansas City resting starters

and can Tenn or Giants or Jacksonville pull a game out of their ass.
