  1. The big advantage is Mike Brown doesn't have to pay their Greyhound fare to come to town when he calls a meeting. They all get a $10 Speedway gas gift card but they have to pay for their own Slushee.

  4. I would genuinely like to see a link to some sort of source or report that last years deal was intimated as a bridge to a long term deal because I haven't seen that anywhere. From what I see, he was coming off a bit of a down year with only 8 sacks, the FO gave him a $15M extension which is more than generous for that type of year, and he's mad that he signed it after now having a career year. What am I missing?

  5. Nobody has said anything about the Bengals going back on a verbal deal, including Trey. He signed an extension and then had a career year so thinks it should get him another raise. But the team can't give every player a yearly raise who outperforms their contract, especially with a salary cap. He made the wrong bet on himself by accepting too little and now wants a mulligan. Tough shit.

  6. The Bengals bet him on being a star player and won the bet. Fair and square. The players can't win every contract.

  7. Wait, is “H-Town” even a real thing? I can’t remember Houston ever being called H-Town. When I lived in New Orleans it was usually just referred to as Fucking Houston but I doubt the league would go with that.

  9. Fair enough, but at this point you're assuming a lot of things based on feelings from how the Bengals did things 30+ years ago. I think the answer is a lot simpler than that.

  10. These aren't the old Bengals they have paid many players what they have deserved and more He can take a hike and I hope if he plays he's not a distraction to the team

  11. Bengals are pretty upfront and I don't believe they insinuated or lied to him about mo money. He's older and wants to cash in . Ain't happening here until the extension is over.

  12. When will the players learn the Bengals don't buckle under threats.

  13. It's a selfish move for Trey to pull this shit the night before the draft, when the team has more important things to worry about. That already leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I hope Mike & Duke tell him he can play for his current deal or get fucked. The Bengals need to stand their ground or they will have every player demanding a raise and trying to hold them hostage.

  14. The MikeFather: "When will these fucking clowns realize I don't give in to any demands. We made a deal, so you'll honor it, unless some other team makes me a trade offer I can't refuse. Do I look like a bitch in lipstick from Denver?"

  15. When negative stuff about a player, ie Brian Thomas's "medical issue" comes out, it's usually a team that wants him hoping he falls to them. It's not called "lying season" for nothing.

  16. * If the Bengals trade up it needs to be for Alt, Nabers, or Bowers ... Potential franchise game changers. 🤨

  17. no doubt good news for Chase but re Tee, not that they’ll come to an agreement anyway - but Amon-Ra is a better WR IMO.

  18. I can only imagine what this means as far as Chase's price tag

  19. I think most of the info that comes out during this time is misinformation, also just because a team wants to move up doesn't mean they can... Like if KC wants to move up they have to find someone willing to go back to 32, which could be hard to do. Hopefully, the Bengals will get one of the top 5 or 6 OTs in the draft.

  20. ^ Local worthless Cincinnati politicians better not fuck this up and try to run off the Bengals. "Accountability" for tax payers is a nice idea, but if they aren't going to apply it to military spending or foreign aid, then don't decide to be principled with one of the few joys we have left in this pre-apocalyptic hellscape. (gets off soapbox)

  21. I don’t think they will take anyone not worth the pick, so I don’t think I have a puke pick. But if they pass on a quality RT I will not be happy. Protect. The. Franchise.

  31. Reported this evening that Byron Murphy has been told by Seattle that they will select him if he's still available at pick 16. So it would seem that the Seahawks are the floor for Murphy.

  38. How do you think Thomas would start right away? I don't see it .. Plug and play is what they'll go for.
    1 point
  39. Thomas wouldn't be a starter as Jamar and Tee would be ahead of him. Bowers may start but I don't see him as the generational talent a lot people say he will be and is not worth being picked at 18. I think Oline needs tons of help and need at least 2 picks in the first 3 rounds. Need a DT somewhere as well but pickings are slim for a NT. A WR in the 3rd round may not be a bad choice.
    1 point
  40. Why? Bowers or Brian Thomas would certainly be starters right off the bat and help the offense. We could address the O-line in round 2 and NT in round 3 or later. So taking a good offensive player should definitely be a possibility.

  41. Nate Wiggins… talented guy but if they’re gonna go DB and Mitchell or DeJean are there, would prefer either.

  42. I will say that this year it was harder to think of a real puker than in years past, which is a good sign that the Bengals are sitting in a nice draft position.

  43. My biggest problem with it is there is no consistency. They look like they could belong to three different teams.
