  1. 2 years into an NFL career and he's learned he needs to be in good shape. Who knows what's next? Paying attention in meetings? Watching film? The sky's the limit!
  2. Feels like half measures to me. They had plenty of cap space to sign one of the top FA guards but went with a discount option and a couple of scratch-off tickets. Plus depth, as you said - very rare for all 5 OL to start every game. Quarter billion invested in the QB and the best they can do is Lucas Patrick? Seems like they're always trying to do the least where the interior OL is concerned.
  3. I think most NFL fans are trained to think that QB value can only be measured by playoff appearances and especially Super Bowl rings. Stats don't matter, injuries don't matter, front offices don't matter, coaching staffs don't matter, supporting casts don't matter...only playoffs and Super Bowl rings matter. Everything else? Just empty excuses to protect your overrated QB.
  4. The Stealers season hangs on Rodgers. If he doesn't work out, their ceiling is the same as the past ten years or so...playoffs with a first rd exit
  5. Marvin didn't have a Joe Burrow at QB. Joe's the one and only reason anyone else in the organization might feel some pressure to perform.
  6. I'd like to see a better running game. It would make the offense more versatile and harder to stop. 3rd and 2 is usually a passing down for the Bengals but if we could run better, we'd convert at a higher rate. But we couldn't run because our interior offensive line are bad at run blocking. Karras at least was good at pass blocking, Volson and Cappa not so much. If we had a good running game, as our 80s Super Bowl teams did, we'd have an elite offense. We could close out games with a 4th quarter lead. We could play in windy or wet conditions. We'd be less predictable and put more stress on opposing defenses. Ken Anderson and Boomer Esiason were NFL MVPs on teams with good running games. Maybe that would work for Joe Burrow too.
  7. Bengals offseason blueprint: 1. Sign Jamar & hopefully Tee - Check 2. Extend Trey 3. Draft a young Edge 4. Sign a veteran interior OL 5. Super Bowl Easy Peasy Wrong. I stupidly had come to think that Mikey boy had failed to pass the Douche Baggery gene on to the grandkids. WRONG. Give Henderson the $30-32M/yr. you're gonna end up giving him anyway, sign Stewart to a fair 17th pick slot deal and sign either Risner or Scherff as insurance at guard to protect - you know - the FUCKING FRACHISE! Tired of the bullshit dick-swinging games!
  8. No more Cinnamon Toast Crunch for this guy! I mean, how could he have possibly known that wasn't a healthy choice for a pro athlete?
  9. This explains at least part of why the old guard Dems are shitting themselves. This crazy SOB wants to act on what they claim to stand for, against their personal interest. And he seems capable, too - it's not loveable old crazy Grandpa or a grandstanding TikTok celebrity. Woah now, buddy! What's in it for AIPAC?
  10. This doesn't look like a team trying to maximize the window for their 28 year old QB.
  11. Change seems to scare them into inaction. The Chase/Higgins contract negotiations seemed to take all of their off-season energy. Sometimes I think the FO just curls up in a ball in the corner when they have to look at doing a large contract.
  12. 1 point
I've heard getting 1/2 of them to show up ready to go on stage is a miracle. Blueprint is coming through soon. Might go see Cannibal Corpse in a few months, more local shows until then. The big venues calm down when it's still 100f as the show lets out.
  13. ay where's the off-topic ninja emoji? bring back the OG set anyway the kennedys are so cursed that crazy CIA/mafia/KGB/time-traveler assassinations are only half the story
  14. That would be a huge mistake, not because the value wouldn't be there but giving a guy a contract who wants to be here only to trade him is going to create animosity for other guys who want to be here. I think it's much more likely they keep Tee, and once Yoshi's contract is up let him go and let Burton slide into that spot.
  15. If Burton starts acting like a pro & blows up this year, do we trade Higgins? Wouldn't hate it for a 1st or an equivalent player on defense.
  16. There’s a lot of reasons why this isn’t happening here. First of all, zoning regulations now usually require a minimum square footage and lot size, and these homes would probably not meet the requirements. Second of all, these would probably fall under “manufactured housing “ and even if they have a foundation and are attached as real estate, they’re more difficult to obtain financing on. Third of all, because it’s too practical. This would be great for in fill housing in urban neighborhoods for a start. You could build a community of these in the suburbs, if the suburbs would accept them. Sears used to make homes. They had numerous floor plans, would deliver the kit with all the supplies to the lot, and you would build it. They’re close to 100 years old, or older, and still standing, and are really cool. I have one up the street from me. In the 40’s after the war, you had Lustron Homes, which were built out of ceramic coated metal. They were about 1000 square feet with carports. Really cool and efficient for GIs coming back and starting families. 75+ years later, still standing. You are starting to see houses being built with 3D printers that are really cool, cost efficient, and more durable than stick built homes.
  17. Translation: "We talked abut his rookie year being a dumpster fire."
  18. ... I hope that Khan artist stays in Shittsburgh for life. He is the King of .500 and Rd 1 playoff exits.
  19. 100% dont buy that. its going to be awful. AI generated photo.
  20. Well it's July bitches! Training camp is THIS month!!!!!!! LFG
  21. A few years ago most of the fanbase wanted Howie fired.
  22. Cleveland Browns get their $600M for new stadium from the state and the Modell Law changed to be able to leave Cuyahoga county (while making it harder to leave the state). https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/politics/ohio-politics/ohio-gov-mike-dewine-signs-budget-giving-600m-to-cleveland-browns-and-tax-cut-to-wealthy
  23. They draft well, manage their cap well and when they lose good players they get comp picks and then draft well..rinse and repeat. Solidly run organization top to bottom.
  24. The Seahawks need to burn their current unis and go back to these.
  25. The Bengals—and Cincinnati—were the beneficiaries of a gap in the space/time continuum, never to be repeated. And even that gap, was so favorable that Marty and Doc would never find it again. A bit of history that few remember is that—back in those AFL-NFL merger discussion years—the AFL was deciding the city for its 1968 expansion. It came down to Seattle (with its well-funded group and plans for the eventual Kingdome), and Cincinnati. Because of PB’s involvement—and his connection to the old-timers group at the top of the AFL pyramid (plus some “input” from the NFL old timer moguls), Cincinnati was granted the franchise. That Riverfront plans were further along didn’t hurt either. The AFL wasn’t guaranteed in the earlier mid-60’s negotiations that all of its franchises would be granted inclusion in the merger. The Bengals would have been last-in-first-out in that case. Riverfront was still 3-4 years away. But, the final agreement was for all-in as to the AFL teams (along with the “gift” of receiving the real Browns and Stealers in realignment) Lose the Bengals now…and this luck would never come to pass again. Ever.
  26. Minor miracle that Cincinnati, Ohio still has an NFL team at all, when you think about all the cities that don't. If they were ever to leave for some reason it's probably not coming back.
  27. It’s not the 90’s anymore and the other owners are not going to allow the team to be moved for free. Those relocation fees are paid directly to the other clubs so the Bengals themselves got a nice pay day when the Rams, Chargers, and Raiders moved. No chance they were ever going to return the favor.
  28. Sounds like one of those good problems. I'd happily suffer through a couple of rebuilding years for a SB win or two. Not like we haven't been through it before, minus the SB wins. Beats the hell out of a consistent "almost".
  29. True. They also pretty much built their defense by drafting former Georgia players. That defense won’t be cheap for long.
  30. Gettin' a little antsy myself, I admit. Hey! Only 6 more weeks! 🥹
  31. Let's be honest...the Eagles hit the lottery with draft picks Mitchell and DeJean. Cheap and pro bowl caliber.
  32. Good point. Wasn't thinking that through. Reminded me to put a little down on the Bengals to win SB though.
  33. Some enemy uniform news, both the Buccaneers and Seahawks plan on wearing the "away", white versions of their throwbacks this year, per Sportslogos.net. Love it.
  34. So the Stealers got rid of a quality player and leader in Fitzpatrick for a mercenary who does whatever he wants in Ramsey? And they still need to pay Watt? So they are going to spend the most money in the NFL on defense? Ok. Chiefs, Rams and Eagles spend the least on defense.
  35. The other teams in the division are beefing up on CBs, in part to slow down Burrow. Meanwhile, the Bengals are sitting on plenty of salary cap space but seem interested in doing very little to improve themselves through trade or free agents still available. From The Athletic: Cincinnati BengalsCould the Bengals add another veteran at guard? The battle at both guard spots runs deep. Veterans Cody Ford and Lucas Patrick were competing on the right side during OTAs, with rookie Dylan Fairchild and Cordell Volson largely in the mix on the left. New offensive line coach Scott Peters sounds content with those battles, and there hasn’t been a clamoring to add another body to the mix. However, with veterans such as Brandon Scherff, Dalton Risner and Will Hernandez all still available and the Bengals owning an abundance of cap space, would they add a more proven starter to the mix and let the others compete for the remaining spot? I’d say it’s unlikely, but a move they should be considering. — Paul Dehner Jr.
  36. for sure, stop being behind every game all game. that rate would drop quite a bit for sure.
