Well what team needs a wr? Ravens went and got boldin, texans kept walter.....

Not to sure if there's another "good" team that needs a wr.......

ctols, saints, jets, vikings, dallas, sd, balt, pitt, ne, philly, GB, AZ all have great wrs or young up and comers.

It's opretty damn obvious what we need badly, it's another playmaker at wr and one at TE.
that article shows these teams as teams of need for a WR.
What about the St. Louis Rams, Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns or Buffalo Bills? All four of those teams finished in the bottom six in passing offense last year.

you know what, that article old posted is so true. how come no other teams that sucked last year are not out after another WR ? whats going on, it's been a real quite free agency this year in a way.

Bryant is talking to the Redskins also. The word is that he may want to go there so he can be the #1 instead of coming here to be the #2 behind Ocho.

that's my thinking and why I worry about him and chad together. TO knows at this point in his career he's not a #1 anymore, Bryant still wants to be one and paid like one.

It sounds like someone got lowballed and is trying to get the Bengals to think they are not the only date to the dance. Washington is the perfect place to go for that.

Antonio Bryant has visit set up with Redskins
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on March 9, 2010 11:33 AM ET

Antonio Bryant's market has been surprisingly slow to develop, but interest is picking up quickly.

Bryant is in Cincinnati Tuesday, and his agent Lamont Smith tells the Tampa Tribune that Bryant has a visit scheduled with the Redskins.

The Bengals appear to be playing Bryant and Terrell Owens against each other in an effort to drive their price down. Bryant's announced visit to Washington could be a way to show the Bengals he has options.

Then again, the Redskins could certainly use receiver help. Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly still have a lot to prove, and Santana Moss' future with the team is in some doubt.

Moss' position in Washington will be especially precarious if Bryant does indeed get out of Cincinnati without signing a deal.

If we're talking about these guys and it was an either/or (which it doesn't necessarily have to be) I'd prefer Bryant.

Younger, could use for a couple seasons to either let Caldwell, Simpson, Cosby, or drafted player to grow up. He catches the ball.

Owens is a one year stop-gap, people compare Chad to TO... now we'd have both on the same team? No thanks. He's older and the dude flat drops a hell of a lot of footballs.

I agree with you. Bryant would be a semi-longterm solution as he's still in his 20s whereas TO is 37 which makes him the oldest WR in the NFL I think.

The one thing that may make TO an okay option though is that the Bengals don't seem real impressed with this WR draft class. But next year is absolutely loaded with awesome guys. Julio Jones, AJ Green, Michael Floyd, Devier Posey, etc. Maybe a 1 year stopgap (TO) would be an okay option if the Bengals feel like they can get into a position to get one of the bigtime, immediate impact guys next draft.

from Reedy...

Free agent Antonio Bryant is believed to be the Bengals' "first choice" at wide receiver, according to beat writer Joe Reedy.

Bryant had a positive meeting with the Bengals Tuesday, pushing Terrell Owens' visit back to Wednesday. Bryant also has a meeting scheduled with the Redskins Wednesday, so the Bengals will have to get him locked up before he leaves team headquarters. Speculation has emerged that Owens' impending visit is merely to placate Chad Ochocinco, who has pushed for the signing.

Per Reedy he has already left... dissapointing.

I really don't see this as a bad sign. Washington isn't exactly desperate for receivers, and this off season suggests that Synder is being more frugal with his money. He'll go to Washington, TO will come into town tomorrow, and we'll play one against the other until we get a deal that works for us financially. The only bad thing that can come of this is if Bryant somehow signs in Washington. If he signs right away, Rosenhouse has us by the balls and we might have to overspend. Personally, I think TO actually fits better since he is still a deep threat and is a far better blocker than Bryant which fits better with our offense.

If you are TO right now, the only market is with us right now and he has motivation to play here. To me, even if we signed Bryant, he is perfect as a one year luxury. He's not a replacment for the future, but he can potentially make right now a fuckload better! BUT we still need a WR of the future... When you have a highly paid, talented QB you need to keep him armed, running team or not. I'll take TO, but not just TO. Bryant signing today would have made that a cool possability.
