Sea Ray
They just signed Rawls and cut Trae Carson. I don't get why they didn't go pluck Hill off Atlanta's PS since he was with them this summer. I thought he was impressive
|schotzee|
Apparently the coaches didn't. They already let him loose in favor of Carson, would've been odd to reverse course. Idk.

Wasn't sure, thought maybe it was a recurring injury. 3 minutes ago, Inigo Montoya said: I think Atlanta already elevated Hill from the PS last week when Devonta Freeman was injured. LostInDaJungle
Quote Rawls was arrested in the spring of 2014 for an April 8 incident in which he and two companions were charged with stealing a 62-year-old woman's purse from a casino. His arrest led to his indefinite suspension from Central Michigan University's football team.[48] He was reinstated a week later, after accepting a plea deal and missing two games.[48] In October 2014, Rawls pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of attempted larceny and was sentenced to a year's probation and 104 hours of community service. He later publicly denied his guilt, declining to further elaborate. Awwww sh*t! I feel some redeeming coming on. Help me Jesus!
esjbh2
I know nuttin about Rawls, and I'm bummed about Carson. I thought Carson could do very well for us. Maybe we re-sign him down the road at some point.

I think he as a 200 yard effort on his resume also. He has some skills. Too bad on Carson pulling a hamstring, that's terrible timing.

I imagine he will be active just for depth. Rawls gives them a RB with experience (unlike Walton or Carson) and he is a very physical runner. He's had trouble staying healthy and broke both his leg and ankle in Seattle. The Jets had him in training camp this year and released him in final cutdowns so it's not like he's been sitting on the couch all summer.

Stealing a person's purse in a casino circa 1975 ended with you getting the living shit kicked out of you by very large armed men. There were no plea deals or police involvement. Denying he did it is laughable given the extraordinary amount of cameras in casinos.

Sea Ray
Good info on the injury to Carson. That makes more sense now. As was also stated in this thread, the Falcons promoted Brian Hill. I liked him

Richard Skinner on Mo Egger's program today said that the Bengals don't think Walton is ready yet. He said they'd use Gio and then later put in Rawls. Likely we won't see Walton

|Numbers|
Curiously we brought in a few people that have burned us ... Thomas Rawls RB "Rawls currently holds the Seahawks' record for the most single game rushing yards by a rookie running back (209) and the most rushing yards by an undrafted rookie in his first 6 games (711). He also holds the Seahawks' record for most yards in a postseason game (161), accomplished on January 7, 2017 in the wildcard round versus the Detroit Lions." "2015, including a 69-yard touchdown run in a game against the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals. However, the Seahawks would give up a 17-point fourth quarter lead to lose the game, curiously not using Rawls once during overtime." However, he has injury history. "December 13, 2015, fractured ankle. September 2016, fractured fibula. December 4, 2016. Helped to annihilate the Panthers when he had 15 attempts for 106 yards and 2 TDs. 2017 season. 157 rushing yards on 58 carries, nine receptions for 94 yards. March 30, 2018, Rawls signed with the Jets. He was released on September 1, 2018." In short, if this kid can pass a medical and the potential is there, I'd say sign him. Who bites the dust as a result ? Don't know. This kid at worst is still a better option at RB (if healthy) than the current crop IMHO. Edited 23 hours ago by Numbers Not sure what was going on in 2017. Looks like Seattle was running back by committee of something similar. Only one RB started more than 3 games, Mike Davis (6). spicoli
I think Rawls is a good gamble, for sure....but cramping up in his very first practice and making it onto the injury report after one day is definitely not a good look, IMO. Inigo Montoya
I haven't seen anything from Walton to be excited about. He hasn't been active yet and his preseason work was not impressive (21 yards in 22 carries). It sucks that Carson went down because the guys behind him are either extremely raw or extremely new. spicoli
hopefully Gio goes the distance and it doesn't matter....I have a feeling though that if Walton got pressed into action and got the benefit of consistent touches, he'd settle in and provide a serious spark.....if he just gets a few touches though sprinkled throughout, he'll probably struggle. I'll say this though...if Gio is full go and touches the ball roughly 25 times, the Bengals come out of Carolina with a win. just my opinion, of course.
