Joe Mixon didn’t take the field with the Bengals’ offense for much of the fourth quarter. When asked why, Taylor said his Pro Bowl running back is dealing with a sore ankle. With Mixon on the sideline and Perine taking the bulk of the carries, the Bengals’ rushing offense was more effective. Perine led the Bengals on the ground with 47 yards on nine carries compared to Mixon’s 24 yards on 12 carries. The Bengals rank No. 20 in the NFL in rushing yards per game (90.0) and based off how Mixon’s ankle feels, might rely more on Perine on Thursday when the Bengals take on the Miami Dolphins (3-0). It’s a quick turnaround for the Bengals and Taylor and offensive coordinator Brian Callahan have to feel good about the production they got from Perine against the Jets if the team decides to split up the workload more in the future.

Was he the one that tackled him without the ball and Mixon got upset?  He was getting in his head for sure.

That guy didn’t just tackle Mixon after he dropped the pass, he tried to pile-drive him into the ground.  Kinda borderline, but certainly could have earned an unnecessary roughness penalty.

He was a great D coordinator with SF ... But seems in over his head as a HC

Obviously he needs to turn the ball over FIVE times, get ZERO takeaways,

Remember, we were a missed extra point from doing just that in week one.

Id rather have him than zt

I wouldn't. Saleh hasn't won in any capacity with the Jets (now his second year). Zac went to the AFC championship in his 3rd year (after yes 2 bad years). But if you think Saleh will take the Jets to the SB this year or next (a Zac turnaround), then you are crazy.

I like his passion and energy, but he reminds me of Dan Campbell, "great guys who players like", but HC is more akin to a calculating CEO role. Whereas D coordinator is perfect for these kind of personalities.

Awfully hard to play RB in the NFL with a sore ankle. Let's let Perine and Trayveon Williams spell Mixon this week

The Giants just had a receiver drop the ball after a catch and “it’s an incomplete pass by rule because he didn’t get the third foot down”.   There wasn’t any question about it.

He had the ball longer than Ja’Marr did on his alleged fumble on Sunday….and Ja’Marr also didn’t get the third foot down.

Is it too much to ask for some consistency from the referees and the enforcement and interpretation of the rules?

Bastards.  😡

When there are 100 rules…50 sub-rules…25 different views…and 12.5 booth reviews….one can have anything remotely close to consistency?

How bout Chris Evans?

Evans has his role but I don't think it's to spell Mixon. In other words, I don't think Evans could have done what Perine did in the last 5 mins of the game on Sunday

Right..

Perine played well in that time.

He's earned another shot.

Heard Evans hasn’t picked up some parts of the game he needs to learn to get more playing time.  Pass blocking for one example.  Kind of makes you wonder about the kid.  Way talented, but had issues in college and drafted way below his talent level.

I don't think he had many issues on the field at the dump up north. He had academic issues because of plagiarism I believe and got himself in the doghouse up there.

Well, sounds like he's in the doghouse here too.
