  1. I would genuinely like to see a link to some sort of source or report that last years deal was intimated as a bridge to a long term deal because I haven't seen that anywhere. From what I see, he was coming off a bit of a down year with only 8 sacks, the FO gave him a $15M extension which is more than generous for that type of year, and he's mad that he signed it after now having a career year. What am I missing?

  2. The big advantage is Mike Brown doesn't have to pay their Greyhound fare to come to town when he calls a meeting. They all get a $10 Speedway gas gift card but they have to pay for their own Slushee.

  7. Big fella might have the highest ceiling of anyone in the draft. Certainly of any of the OL. Stinks he probably isn’t playing next year but I’d expect day two guys to be significant contributors next year.

  11. Trey Hendrickson is a power rusher that left many games with back issues and is 29. Trade him. He will never get to where he was last year. He doesn't have pass rush moves. He has a motor.

  12. Fucking retire then. And sky-point your way right out the fucking door.

  13. Nobody has said anything about the Bengals going back on a verbal deal, including Trey. He signed an extension and then had a career year so thinks it should get him another raise. But the team can't give every player a yearly raise who outperforms their contract, especially with a salary cap. He made the wrong bet on himself by accepting too little and now wants a mulligan. Tough shit.

  14. The Bengals bet him on being a star player and won the bet. Fair and square. The players can't win every contract.

  17. I went to Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse in Columbus last night for a company function. I had never been there before, but now I understand why the Bengals choose that restaurant to wine and dine free agents. Even though we had a limited menu, everything I ate was amazing!

  18. Pretty easy to tell what the Bengals are most focused on with this draft. A whopping 15 of their 19 listed top 30 visits were with offensive/defensive linemen. DT Evan Anderson, FIU DT Johnny Newton, Illinois DT Justin Rogers, Auburn DT Maason Smith, LSU DT McKinnley Jackson, Texas A&M DT T'Vondre Sweat, Texas ED Chop Robinson, Penn State ED Gabriel Murphy, UCLA ED Xavier Thomas, Clemson OT Amarius Mims, Georgia OT Bayron Matos, South Florida OT Giovanni Manu, British Columbia OT Javon Foster, Missouri OT Taliese Fuaga, Oregon State OT Troy Fautanu, Washington S Daijahn Anthony, Ole Miss TE Erick All, Iowa WR Jalen McMillan, Washington WR Joshua Cephus, UTSA

  19. I actually had the Mims thread title typed out for the last 30 minutes before the pick and was trying to MANIFEST it into reality. But when they actually said his name I was in such a manic explosion I almost broke my laptop when jumping up. 🤯

  26. Given the absolute thieves the bengals have become trying to steal my tickets, games i cannot make, i will have for sale at face value or REALLY close, at minimum way cheaper than market value. So if you need a pair or two pairs, let me know, I am in section 111 and 106, behind the bengals sideline/bench. figured id post it so its on peoples minds when the season hits. Ill post week by week or as I know my travel plans as they arrive.

  28. Katy won't. She understands that. An agent with 1 aging player with back issues decides to shoot for the moon to compensate himself. He has the wrong org to try that with .

  33. If the agent only has one other name client, then that leads me to believe that he, as I just told a client and fellow Bengals fans "does not know with whom he is messing". My client asked if it was because of Mike Brown's cheapness and I said no, because it was because of Mike Brown's principles. Basically he's going to say "Shut up and play." or "Shut up and retire."

  34. He’s their only pass rushing threat that's proven… they are keeping him. I’m sure he wants longer term security… who doesn’t? He got an extension last year and he happily signed it, so let him play out this year, see how he does, see how his back and overall health are, and also see how Murphy and Ossai perform. Then decide. For now, nothing changes.

  35. As all this goes on Katy sits in her office knowing both will play this year. Nothing has changed. Draft board stays the same.

  37. The MikeFather: "When will these fucking clowns realize I don't give in to any demands. We made a deal, so you'll honor it, unless some other team makes me a trade offer I can't refuse. Do I look like a bitch in lipstick from Denver?"

  38. I think most of the info that comes out during this time is misinformation, also just because a team wants to move up doesn't mean they can... Like if KC wants to move up they have to find someone willing to go back to 32, which could be hard to do. Hopefully, the Bengals will get one of the top 5 or 6 OTs in the draft.

  39. ^ Local worthless Cincinnati politicians better not fuck this up and try to run off the Bengals. "Accountability" for tax payers is a nice idea, but if they aren't going to apply it to military spending or foreign aid, then don't decide to be principled with one of the few joys we have left in this pre-apocalyptic hellscape. (gets off soapbox)

  40. With Duke Tobin out with his Dad's recent passing, Mike Potts held the pre-draft press conference earlier today. He handled himself really well, I thought. Interesting to me that he mentioned on the analytics side that Elizabeth Blackburn has also created some reports that they use in scouting/draft prep. I know there's that Sam Francis guy and some others on the staff who do that analytics work full-time, but the fact that she's doing that, in addition to her other work - really impressive. I know she's really bright, and in addition to working on fan engagement, she's very hands-on regarding a lot of team things. But I didn't know she was involved at that level re: the on-field football operations piece too. But her Mom has been, between contracts and being on an NFL committee or two, so I shouldn't have been surprised. Anyway, it's posted on Bengals.com.
