-GoBengals-
He has finished one year of the last 4, finished in the top 20 in QB's.. in 2005 he was 31st. he is old, tired, throws too many picks, and cant even come close to making the powerful wildman throws that made him famous/legendary... he brings very little to the table as a qb minus a seat filler short term prayer. you still overpay for delaying your real problem for a year or two. I would rather ahve Rogers over favre in each of the last 4 years.. he had one good year with a good run game to move it along... im so tired of this dude.. gladly play him in Minnesota if they are stupid enough to get him.. but im sure tired of hearing about him and seeing the EXACT SAME 2 plays form a high school in Mississippi or wherever the fuck.. fuck bret favre. VonBlade
The thing that annoys me the most is that if he'd have retired at the end of 06, we'd all think of him as the legend he deserves to be.
Good point. He does throw pretty well in those commercials againt women and children. ESPN is saying how he was wronged by the Packers. He was wishy-washy for 4 or 5 years about retirement, so they drafted Rodgers. And then he doesn't want to step down, so leaves them in limbo. He finally retires, so they can start building with Rodgers. Nobody seems to miss him, so he unretires and expects to pick up where he left off. The Packers have already started to move on, so they tell Favre he can be a back-up. That is how they wronged him? How long were the Packers supposed to let Favre string them along? Quaker
I am certainly no fan of farve saga the past few years and agree that the guy has been quite the attention whore with all his retired, unretired antics. However, with 16 years at the helm of GBP, his teams had: 1 - losing record. (2005) 2 - .500 seasons (99, 06) 13 - winning records*. *9 of those seasons with double digit wins. Past 4 years: 2 - winning records (08 9-7 with NYJ, 07 13-3 with GBP) 1 - .500 season (GBP) 1 - losing season (4-12, GPB) So, for all the drama the past few years, the guy has been a winner. Hooky
Yeah, Go. ESPN is still milking it. Now they're talking about the aftermath in Minnesota, calling it wreckage that the Vikes will have to endure this season. They're talking like the Vikes stopped everything until they found out if Favre would be their QB. Did ESPN/NFL Live ever get around to mentioning DC Jim Johnson's death? They were going on about Favre like he died or was retiring for the first time. ESPN has a big egg on their face, they were all counting on Favre playing again and now they feel stupid and won't let the story die. Of course, they're leaving it open for him to join a team mid-season. So get ready for whenever a starting QB gets hurt this season for ESPN to ship that Rachel Whatever back to Hattesburg(sp). This isn't over by a damn sight. As long as Favre is still alive, ESPN will always be up his ass.

|Bengal Migration|
Source: Favre Expected To Sign With Vikings Today Reporting Mark Rosen MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ― A high-level source with the Minnesota Vikings tells WCCO-TV's Mark Rosen that quarterback Brett Favre is expected to sign with the team Tuesday. Favre is on currently on his way to Minneapolis and is expected to sign with the team this afternoon, the source said. WCCO-TV spoke with an official at the Hattiesburg, Miss., airport, who saw an airplane with the Vikings logo leave the airport Tuesday morning. The flight number for that plane has been blocked from tracking systems. Speculation that Favre would be joining the Vikings roster abruptly ended in late July when head coach Brad Childress said the quarterback would remain in retirement. On July 28, Childress said that he received a phone call from Favre and announced the quarterback would remain retired, though now it appears that declaration was perhaps a bit premature. Favre spent 16 years with the Green Bay Packers before playing for a year with the New York Jets. His first team was the Atlanta Falcons, where he played two games his first year. In 18 seasons, he has 464 touchdowns, more than 65,000 passing yards and a quarterback rating of 85.4. He's also thrown 310 interceptions in his career. Favre originally retired from the Green Bay Packers on March 4, 2008. That same July, he sought release from his contract so that he could play for another team and the Packers accused the Vikings of tampering by talking to Favre. Though they did talk, the Vikings were ultimately cleared of the tampering charge. Favre then reported to Packers training camp, but was traded to the New York Jets in August. Favre was released by the New York Jets earlier in May, clearing the way for him to sign with any team willing to take him. Talks between Favre and the Vikings about him joining that team began almost immediately. Speculation flew as doctors examined Favre's injured biceps tendon, which hampered Favre down the stretch the previous season. Favre was born Oct. 10, 1969 in Gulfport, Miss. He will turn 40 during this football season.
http://wcco.com/vikings/brett.favre.minnesota.2.1133319.html
