So what have we learned from this thread?

That people should leave their rants in the game threads.

That members here love to pile on. And they love to post pics
while doing so.

That Palmer does not suck, unless you are talking about straws and titties.

Anything else?
...that you should never make a hater thread until, ...AFTER THE GAME!

You could probably go through game pictures over the past couple of years and find that exact same picture just in a different stadium. It's crazy how similar it is.

Carson Comeback strikes again
Posted 28 minutes ago

Carson Comeback struck again Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium with the Bengals' third straight last-second victory, 17-14 over the Ravens. This one decided the AFC North showdown and put Cincinnati in command of the division at 3-0 (4-1 overall) with its third consecutive North victory. It also had to go down as one of the most emotional with head coach Marvin Lewis presenting the game ball to defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, less than 72 hours after the sudden death of Vikki Zimmer, his wife of 27 years.

"We've got no talent, just heart. No talent, just heart," bellowed left tackle Andrew Whitworth as he walked off the field.

Lewis passed on the same sentiments in his postgame news conferdnce.

"They keep telling me talent is overrated," Lewis said. "No talent. Just 11 guys playing together."

Clearly the Bengals had plenty of talent on Sunday. First, Zimmer's unit held the NFL's No. 3 offense to 257 yards and one touchdown. Secondly, the Bengals offense dented the NFL's No. 1 rush defense for 142 yards on 34 carries. That was a 4.2 average against a defense that had been giving up 2.6 per carry.

But clearly the day belonged to Zimmer and his defense. Lewis grew emotional as he recounted the Post-it notes in the Zimmers' home that were left as reminders for Vikki to bake food for the defense.

"I told them on Friday morning," Lewis said, "she was always thinking about you guys. We were in a funk Friday, but I think when they saw Zim on Saturday and how he was handling it, we got through the funk."

Asked if Zimmer said anything to the team after the game, Lewis said he said "that she was happy, that she was proud of you guys win or lose, and she's up there smiling."

"I know it was a game for first place, but to see Zim on the sidelines was worth more than words can express," safety Chris Crocker said. "You can't even put a quote on that. Just seeing him and the game he called, he put us in position to make plays today. That just shows how much this means to him. To foucs through such a tragedy is just huge."

On his game-winning 20-yard touchdown reception from Palmer, wide receiver Andre Caldwell said it a play where there were four receivers running vertical routes.

"It was one-on-one, the best man wins, and I was able to beat him (Chris Carr)," Caldwell said. "He held me to one catch all day but I guess I did save the best for last. I want to be known as Mr. Clutch. That's what T.J. (Houshmandzadeh) was when he was here. I faked like I was going outside and I went inside and it was wide open."

A better argument:

Without two HOF-caliber plays by Ed Reed, is this game an easy Bengals' victory?

Carson has added a scrambling element to his game and it's paying dividends. I don't just mean the 4th downs runs he's had the past two weeks. He's moved around much better in the pocket to buy extra time to get his throws away. Those additional opportunities have been huge, IMO. He's also doing much better with his ball fakes and using more pump fakes to buy extra time and freeze defenders. I do put the delay of game penalties on Palmer and those have to been cleaned up. I'd rather have this version of Carson with clutch play and victories over the previous one with the great stats.

This one decided the AFC North showdown and put Cincinnati in command of the division at 3-0 (4-1 overall) with its third consecutive North victory. The Bengals are 3-0 in the division for the first time since 1989.

The win follows Cincinnati's 23-20 wins over Pittsburgh and Cleveland the last two weeks, and according to ESPN, it marks the first time since the merger that a team has won three consecutive division games by three points or less.

It also had to go down as one of the most emotional with head coach Marvin Lewis presenting the game ball to defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, less than 72 hours after the sudden death of Vikki Zimmer, his wife of 27 years.

"We've got no talent, just heart. "You can't even put a quote on that. Just seeing him and the game he called, he put us in position to make plays today. That just shows how much this means to him. To focus through such a tragedy is just huge and means a lot to us."

On his game-winning 20-yard touchdown reception from Palmer, wide receiver Andre Caldwell said it was a play where there were four receivers running vertical routes.

Palmer was as emotional as he's shown on the field, pumping his fists and jumping into Whitworth's arms after the winning play.

"There's nothing like winning here," Palmer said. "It's like a college atmosphere. It's such a fun place to be. It's like a college game with the band. You've got Ray Lewis's dance with the intro. You've got little kids flipping you off and cussing you out. It's an awesome place to play and an even better place to win." (hahaha)

With running back Cedric Benson gouging the Ravens for 120 yards on the ground, it marked the first time in 39 games that Baltimore has allowed a 100-yard rusher. The last to do it was Kansas City's Larry Johnson in late 2006.

"They do a good job of reading the zone," Benson said of the Ravens. "Their linebackers are real good. They're trying to take away the cutback. We run our zone different than most teams. We were able to stretch the guys to give us some room and make some gaps. The offensive line did a good job being on their man. When the linebackers fell back to take away the cutback I was able to read it and take advantage of what I saw."

Telegraphs every pass!

Congratulations!! Merriam-Webster has just replaced the definition of knee-jerk reaction with your post.

In response to the posts that argue that it was just one pass. That's homer crap. This has been a problem on numerous occasions throughout his career. But, like in the Green Bay game, he shook it off and answered by playing really well.

He has also answered to the two major knocks against him: immobility and lack of leadership. He is moving well and making good decisions in the pocket and has shown strong determination along with the rest of the team. That is the big difference that I'm seeing this season, the strong determination.

he has never thrown way too many INT's in a season, and never had a issues with lots of pick 6's...

when was it a problem more than most QB's go through?

espeically given the line issues he has dealt with over the last 3 seasons...

has it happened before? sure.. what wb has never thrown picks?

By the way, when I Posted this thread early in the game, I was really into the game and was just hoping not to see any mistakes that can cause us the game early on. Baltimore is very good and making you pay for your mistakes and that play right there could've been the beginning of total disaster.

Sorry to have over reacted and start a thread that wasn't as accurate as it comes out. I know Carson doesn't suck. I just made a bad decision on posting what I was feeling when I saw that INT returned.

Anyway, Hopefully next week Carson and the offense can show early on and be in control by halftime so we don't need another Cardiac Cats comeback.
