Making room for Charlie Sizzle unless they have another rabbit up their sleeve.

Surprised Trey Hill or even Jackson Carman have not had an "injury" in practice that landed them on IR.

This was a very real injury to Anderson, who has been doing a nice job on special tams. News now is that Anderson tore his ACL in the San Fran game. Out for the year.

There was a moment on a punt or kick coverage situation where I saw Anderson go down after he was (from my perspective) dirtied by someone.  I wonder if that was when it happened?

I didn’t know players on ir got paid less, interesting.

 NFL players get paid less on IR?

In the NFL, only powerful players with lots of leverage generally receive fully guaranteed contracts. For players without fully guaranteed contracts, they will still receive some money while on IR, but it's generally only a fraction of their regular salary

***FWIW and perhaps the wrong place but worth a tire kick on the practice squad?

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

The Los Angeles Chargers waived former Georgia Bulldogs tight end Tre’ McKitty on Tuesday. Los Angeles drafted McKitty with a third-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft.

McKitty played in 28 games from 2021-2022 with the Chargers. Los Angeles moved on from McKitty after he played in six games of the 2023 NFL season. McKitty has 12 career catches for 117 yards in his NFL career.

Chargers Wire highlights what Los Angeles will do at tight end without the former Georgia tight end.

With McKitty gone, Gerald Everett, Donald Parham and Stone Smarttmake up the tight end room. To fill the void, L.A. could call up Nick Vannett from the practice squad.

McKitty must look for a new NFL home after being waived. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero announced the Chargers’ decision.

McKitty played at Georgia in 2020 after transferring from Florida State, with which he played college football from 2017-2019.

Wow - really sucks for Anderson. He was starting to come on... especially as a ST'er. Liked him a lot. He'll have a lot of time to rehab and get back for next year. Really rooting for him.

Guessing they may elevate Mike Thomas from the PS - even if not for the season, they can for the next few games. He's also a good ST player, so that helps things for now. Guessing they may want to backfill on the PS for another S. Or maybe they'll go with elevating Charlie Jones for next week.
