What “shame” or “dishonor is there in simply being a not-so-good NFL player?

“Irrelevance”…OK

Well, there’s being a “not so good NFL player” and then there’s “being drafted but never seeing the field due to your own stupidity or lack of self discipline “. I think the 2 players mentioned fall into the latter category.

Incidentally, Kirby Criswell was an answer to a trivia question that I knew and I won a game worn jersey of some no-name and player from 1995 as a result.

Didn't Brewer ask for a break from practice to smoke?

Freddie Childress deserves mention here too. A 3rd rounder who didn't make the roster as a rookie.

Without looking, I think Fat Freddy was around for at least a year.

Criswell has the distinction of being the highest drafted rookie (2nd round) not to make the final roster.

Why are you ducking? We had an award named for him.

Well, the entire existence of the Sewer Brewer was shall we say...controversial.  Many wanted it to go, and it apparently has.  Just making a joke.

Good award to duck.

Tibors idea of mocking .

Glad it's gone.

To each their own.  It was a way for some to vent and have a laugh.  It was a thread easily avoided.

If any of you tried to get tickets to the Ring of Honor Reception Evening - you probably didn't have any luck.

Streak 25+ STHs got a code on Thursday at 10am to unlock access to tickets.  TicketBastard was broken - the code didn't work.   There have been speculations that TB had the code set to "activate" at a different date/time, others that TB issued the wrong code to the Bengals Front Office,  I do not know the cause, I only know that when I tried using the code a few minutes after it went live, it returned an "invalid code" error.

Some tried logging in/out, others tried different browsers, or incognito mode, etc.  None of of them worked.  The few (like me) who reached out to the team for help GOT help... our order was taken over the phone in realtime and tickets were populated to my Bengals account immediately.  Mine went through at 10:40am, and ours were #s 25-28, meaning 24 other tickets sold before me.... and since there was a 4 ticket maximum (but most folks likely ordered in pairs), anywhere from 6 to 12 other STHs got their orders in before ours.  ONLY 6-12 accounts.  Everybody else was either getting help, or was continuing to bang their heads against TicketBastard.

Worse....  Streak 1-24 STHs got their code on Friday for a 10am start.  And based on many many many many posts on X (including BengalsCaptain) everybody was having the same problems with the site that the Streak 25+ STHs had on Thursday.

The event HAS sold-out.... but there's no telling at this point whether they all sold to the 25+ STHs on Thursday or not.  All I know is that the only complaints came from those who were following instructions and trying to get TicketBastard to work, and the only ones I heard about actually getting tickets were those who had help from the front office over the phone.

Does not instill confidence in the Bengals' decision to go all-in on TicketBastard this year...

I know from personal experience how rough that's been so far...  when TB populated my account with tickets this year, they either disabled transfers OR gave me untransferrable tickets, which I found out the hard way last weekend when trying to distribute them to my other households.  I spoke with Pumkie on Monday and told me that a lot of STHs who got their deliveries in the same batch had that problem... mine were fixed and redelivered, but I wonder how many folks got their tickets and are staring at them in the app, not realizing that come game day they won't be able to transfer them to their brother who's riding with them to the game?

I have also had non-stop issues with the Bengals ticketing app.... as soon as it tries to merge my Bengals and TicketBastard accounts, the app locks up and I get a never-ending spinning B.  I've learned that I've had to delete the app's data and cache every time, meaning I have to go through the bothersome process to give it camera and location access (location you have to do TWICE because it wants precise position data but doesn't ask for it, making you go through the phone's permission settings to grant it).  Bleh - technology sometimes really sucks.

The actual reason is because they're snooping.  Wouldn't doubt if TicketBastard requires them to require those permissions

The reason they'll probably give is they need it for the in-stadium fan "events", such as when your phone light is synchronized with everyone else's for White Bengal halftime or other similar things.  I've always turned those permissions off and re enabled them if needed for a specific legitimate purpose (like the light show).

Hopefully the government is successful in breaking up this monopoly that hurts just about everyone involved but Live Nation/Ticketmaster.

Paid $70 in ticket fees (per ticket) on a recent purchase.  36.5% of the actual price of the tickets.  Ridiculous.

I think Freddie was a second rounder. But yeah, big fat bust in more ways than one.

But to his credit, he played in Canada and is in the Canadian football HOF!

Is there some reason that Mike Brown can't just come out and say, "Hey look. We're way behind here. And while we are in the process of catching up, we simply have to make an exception for Trumpy & Parrish. They're going to eventually be enshrined anyway. So rather than risk waiting until their next of kin have to accept the honor on their behalf, we're including them, along with whichever 2 players get the votes from the STHs."???

I wouldn't see any harm in that, but they're going to run out of candidates at some point, so they're probably wanting to stretch the supply of inductees out as many years as possible. This will eventually become a once or twice per decade thing.

Hey peeps.  I might....  MIGHT....  have one extra ticket for the Ring of Honor Reception Dinner at the Stadium.  It's on Saturday 9/21, doors to the East Hall open at 630.  Runs until 9.  Free food, two drink coupons, open bar, meet Krumrie and Dillon and everybody else showing up to roast them.  It's a blast.

I do not know for certain if the one (and I mean ONE) ticket will be available - the gal I was taking has had a family thing come up and the other two guys going both have wives who might want to take that ticket.  But if anyone wants to stand by and get to go if I have the spare, I need to know.

It's $65.  No service charges or other fees, just a flat sixty-five.

Sound off below if you want to be that person if I have a ticket to distribute.
