texbengal
I believe Gunter’s mom was battling cancer at one point and I recall reading about how close he was with his mom. I hope for his family that it’s not related to that, but we will likely not know and it’s certainly his decision what he wants to do with his life. He was a guy that showed flashes of being a good player who could play some DE but also STs, and he seemed like a good kid too. Good luck to him as he pursues his next adventure, whatever that is. 1

Mike Brown is a fucking idiot who hit the genetic lottery and runs a multi billion dollar organization like a family owned hardware store. The only requirement for being in leadership within the Bengals organization is being a descendant of Paul Brown or being married to one, what successful organization/corporation do you know that operates like that? If the Bengals hadn't lucked into getting Joe Burrow they would still be a joke of a franchise with Ryan Findley or whoever Zac Taylor thinks is going to tear up the NFL.

Tells are going to put their best blockers out there and they aren't keeping the 5th string TE on the final 53 to only block on kickoffs, when 4 other guys can do it just as good or better. As for the Bengals wanting to pay Chase, clearly they don't want to pay him what he's worth or the going market rate or he would be practicing with the team instead of holding out, that's like your boss offering you a minimum wage salary and saying he's willing to pay. There's a difference in paying someone and paying then what they want.

Cricket
Are we talking about the Mike Brown that petitioned the league to count a 2-pt conversion attempt as a play so that Jon Kitna would qualify for a bonus? Are we talking about the Mike Brown that paid a drafted player his salary even though he didn’t have to after the player was seriously injured in a car accident before the season started and never played again? That cheap Mike Brown?

Except that I'm expecting Mclaughlin would only do that this year as two of our TEs are on 1 year contracts with Hudson and Gesicki. Letting Evans go in favor of keeping Mclaughlin is about long term thinking

And at least for this year, Hudson provides a reliable “security blanket” receiving option that both QBs have stated publicly (and pretty loudly) that they appreciate. Assuming good health, McLaughlin gets a “redshirt” year and Erick All gets his rookie year behind him too, so in year 2, All may be ready to assume the starter role and McLaughlin gets more meaningful snaps. And you still have Drew Sample. I expect Grandy will get a PS spot (and maybe McLaughlin) as well so they’re building some young depth for down the road.
KA14_HOF
Unless it's preceded by "Erick", I'm still having a tough time reading "All" as a name instead of as a ... regular word. (noun? adverb? something like that)

If the Cowboys wanted to pay CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons they would have been paid back in March or April instead of holding out. Jerry Jones must be a similar particular kind of fucking idiot.

Brown and Jones are costing themselves money by not doing something they've said they "want" to do because the longer they wait the more expensive the contract extensions would be if they just did it

To me they seem content with the former, making a good show of it most of the time. Keep hope alive for the local market and gamble with house money as a subsidized franchise. Bound to win it all eventually, right? In the meantime everyone gets a pony. Pretty sweet deal if you don't piss off the bosses in New York.
