  1. Just re-watched the Tyler Boyd 3d and 9 in OT catch. Watch how Tee turns with him and sprints down the field as a blocking escort. That's how teams that want to win play.

  2. Holy smokes - just dropping this here as an update on this conversation...

  3. I also loved how Mike Hilton ran along the sidelines with him…😎 This team is a TEAM.

  4. Rest him vs Stealers for sure those dirty players will try to end his career

  5. BREAKING: Steelers Safety Damontae Kazee Suspended For The Rest Of The Season For Hit On Colts WR (VIDEO) (dailysnark.com) Let's hope this is the start of the league cracking down on their style of "hard nosed football"

  6. Basically, the Volson truthers are having an "I told you so" in terms of patience moment...

  7. Also they've used more max protect, which has worked really well, I don't know why ZT was scared to use this with Joe.

  8. After losing their QB for the season and switching to a relatively balanced offense, they're actually not that bad.

  9. Unusual to see them drop the banhammer on somebody midseason. Doubt this would've happened if they were 11-3 and leading the division instead of Balmer.

  10. They need a DB to be added to brought up from the practice squad roster to take Ivey's special teams snaps. They cannot have DJ Turner take so many special teams snaps while also being a starting CB. It's too much. Of course Ivey's early game injury was the primary reason Turner logged so many ST snaps against the Vikings, but regardless it needs to get scaled back a lot.

  11. Tufele is already on the roster and he's been inactive, so he probably gets the call as #3 DT. They might elevate Dominique Davis from the PS. He's a bit of a fireplug inside... good run defender, actually.

  12. I think this year it's a wash, but he needs competition in the offseason

  13. He was cut for attitude and effort but the Titans let Tetir Tart go. Could coming to a team with a chance at the playoffs change that?

  14. How the world has that been 14 years ago already? Where has the time gone? How did those guys even make it thru that season.

  15. Well, flag or no flag the important thing is Stealers getting the shit knocked out of them.

  16. Too early to call Robbins a bust....be patient. We should not be going after every Tom, Dick, Harry just because a rookie punter has an up-and-down season. And running to want to sign Ariza or Huber reeks of desperation--we are not desperate.... Just my opinion, though. I don't mind being proved wrong.

  17. I actually knew that since I was at the game. I just miss seeing decent replays so that I can evaluate good calls vs. bad calls. The non-call for DPI on that late pass to Tee was absolutely ridiculous.

  18. I agree. I have to admit, it’s been a lot less stressful watching games with no expectations. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed these last few weeks. I love that guys are stepping up and the young guys are getting valuable experience, like you said. We’ll really miss Reader, he’s turned into one of my all-time favorite Bengals and I hope we can re-sign him to a three year deal.

  19. I will be forever indebted to Marvin for bringing us out of the dark ages

  20. Yeah I feel like this squad aren't the "turn the other cheek" types..

  21. yes he did a helluva job - really brought the team out of the dark ages and did a ton of stuff. Great talent evaluator too. Terrible playoff record but I didn’t think his best players played best when it counted most in those games, either. And things may have been different if Carson hadn’t been hurt… they were peaking st the right time that year. I think he’s itching to coach again and I hope he gets the chance.

  23. They’re locked into the 6 seed no matter what happens until Saturday at about 8 pm.

  24. Division TB is only applied when breaking ties within the division. When comparing us to Indy, Denver, Buffalo or anyone else NOT in the North, our division record does not matter one whit. It's sweep/head to head, conference record, common opponents, SOV and SOS in that order. The NFL tiebreaking scheme has been largely unchanged for decades - I am floored why so many people fundamentally don't understand how it works.

  25. This is the silver lining of the injuries this late season, win or lose to me. We're going to get the chance to define the NFL caliber of a bunch of our players that will go a LOOOOOONG way toward helping us make personnel decisions this off-season. And now add in the mix of a likely new top draft pick with a Browning trade (or a player for player trade, because I could see waiting past the draft to make a trade to ensure that Burrow is back before pulling any trigger).

  26. If there is a silver lining (and I may be reaching here), we get a chance to see what Yoshi and Charlie Jones can do on a more consistent basis.

  27. Obviously the league didn't evaluate Jones properly. Why did player X go so high or fall so low is an annual question. Tom Brady or Jamarcus Russell are the classic examples.

  28. That's the frustrating part. It's not like Jones came out of nowhere and was overlooked. He played more than 400 passing snaps for a Heisman finalist QB in 2022 with zero sacks and zero QB hits allowed. So apparently the Bengals evaluation process somehow convinced themselves the guy would bust when he was already a high level player and continued that into the NFL.

  29. Nick Scott is on the bench, he's athletic but he doesn't seem to be the brightest guy..he was consistently out of place and taking bad angles. Battle is playing more consistent ball, as they play more snaps together they should improve and continue.

  30. I don't often comment on Bengals-specific stuff because I'm not a wannabe GM and many of you guys are a lot smarter than me when it comes to football IQ. I enjoy reading what you smart fuckers say. I'm just a fan who has been on this roller coaster ride since '68. I loved the early Bengals--Trumpy, Paul Robinson, Virgil Carter, et all because they were a tough bunch of dudes. I endured abuse from sportswriters at the newspaper I worked at during the Dave Shula years. I liked the '81 team and loved the '88 team. And 2021 was a lot of fun. But I have to say that this year, for me, is a lot of fun and ranks up there with my favorites. I don't even care if they miss the playoffs. These players are fighting, scrappy, never-give-up mothergrabbers who don't give a damn what the world thinks. And they have taken a fair amount of unwarranted criticism from pundits this year. Piss on the sideline jerks who think their opinion matters. And I'm looking at you, Nick Wright. Hot damn, people, I think we all knew that this season was going to be troublesome from the start with Burrow's calf injury. But, shit-fire, there is never a reason to tank. Never, ever, ever. You go down swinging and you take your lumps. Last year, when I was half-delirious in the hospital, it was the Bengals that gave me some vicarious hope and inspiration. Bless 'em. I'm gonna root for them to win, even if they were to trot out a roster full of shitty Walnut Hills High School players from the 70s. I like those guys, too, but they were not very good. End rant.
