I call BS. If they hung up the phone before the conversation could even start, how are the details of that non conversation known? I would bet you money that this Jake Egberg has told a lie before this nonsense tweet.4 points

In the two years Burrow has finished the year healthy, we have gone to the AFC Championship game. Healthy, this team is not Carolina or the Patsies, its one of the best teams in the league. The League knows that.3 points

"One of the best players I've had the privilege of playing with. I've endorsed him when I've been asked," Karras said. "He's a premier player. He knows what it takes to win. He's a super athlete to be so big and move like that. He's very strong. A guy who has played a lot football. Seventh-round draft pick. Made his way up in this league. It's always good to see an old friend again. A guy that you've done it with. It's exciting for me. And we're going into the draft with a full line"3 points

Also, I still want Becton as a 6th man, backup OT, and potential challenger at LG. There's no reason why this deal should eliminate bringing in Becton for depth. Then they can finally cut Carman's trash ass.3 points

My only concern with taking him at #18 is that he's run down only type of player and typically those guys aren't drafted in the first round, if he's there in the 2nd round then, yes, take him. Also, to your point these big guys get worn down as the season goes along, he needs to be apart of a deep rotation. The Eagles drafted Jordan Davis in the top 10 last year and by the end of the season he was useless because he was playing more snaps at a higher level than he had ever played in his life. Yeah, I think he had a medical issue which is why he fell last year and he did end up getting hurt...Brown would be an ideal signing, but pairing him with a first-round rookie RT would be a huge get. Just sign him to a big 1 year deal, similar to Collins, with tons of incentives on playing time. Looks like Karras and Joey B are going back to Ruby's...it's a tough job but those steaks aren't going to eat themselves...lol3 points

It probably was Pollack and I agree it's ridiculous. This OL has done nothing but underperform. Instead if holding him accountable the team will instead publish some fawning article about his model train collection or some such bullshit.2 points

I love this signing. At least they aren't going in to the draft thinking they have to go RT in the first... I mean they still could draft a tackle there but they don't have to. I think they have had a really good first week of free agency2 points

Even if they take an OT at 18 (Mims, Latham etc) they aren't beating out Tent Brown in training camp, or the regular season likely. The only way they still see the field is if there's an injury. So it would most likely be a redshirt year for them. Which is ideally what you want on good teams. This likely plays into the idea of taking a Murphy, DeJean, or Bowers instead, who could see snaps week 1.2 points

I think this puts Murphy/Newton/Powers-Johnson as obvious picks @18. We will draft a WR of course because Bengals. Great signing tho, will be nice to not see Burrow run for his life everytime he drops back to pass.2 points

Maybe Brown was getting one year offers but the Bengals showed with Rankins that they are now willing to give guys on either side of 30 a 2 year deal. I'd be all in for that, with the potential upside that you light his competitive fire playing for a winner with this culture and you hit the jackpot. Best case scenario is you take a G/T prospect in this draft who moves right into a G position if Brown turns into a guy we want to extend.2 points

I'm not ready to say Bechton doesn't want to play in Cincinnati. Maybe he has other interest and is waiting to see how things shake out. Or maybe the Bengals decided that they didn't want Bechton. Bottom line, none of us know. That said, yes, - I agree with others that Brown is better than Bechton and would be a nice (2 years, max?) bridge guy to go along with a rookie T. But also as others have said, they need more OL help than T. Depth on the OL is lean, too. Beyond Ford, is there anyone who has shown anything? Smith? Nope... not Hill... Carman has had a few good games in the playoffs, but that's it. So they need help everywhere, especially since to assume no games missed by starters again... is likely not happening.2 points

Browning certainly has trade value. Overall, he played well last year, with a higher passer rating than most NFL starters, including Burrow. He's old, has bounced around and was basically a rookie last year. He throw too many interceptions. But he also pushed the ball down the field and completed passes at a high rate. Some team is going to be starting Drake Maye or Bo Nix this year. Browning has already shown he can play in the NFL. If Denver or Las Vegas doesn't find a rookie they can proclaim to be the future of the franchise, they may call the Bengals. Whether or not the Bengals will trade Browning is the question.2 points

Same. Heâs talented but sounds like he fell out of favor - in his contract year, no less - and got cut⊠and then Texans grabbed him but havenât re-signed him and reportedly they wanted Rankins, an older guy who was also on their team, back instead. That says a lot, and Tart sounds like a knucklehead. Saw a quote somewhere from Mike Vrabel that he told Tart going into last year that he had the opportunity to have a great year and provide long-term security for himself and his family. Hasnât worked out great for him. Iâm sure heâll get picked up somewhere but if the Bengals didnât feel like he was a fit, good for them. Living in Johnathan Hankins play a lot, and he really helped the Cowboysâ interior run D. Heâs an older guy, but Iâd consider him for a 1-year deal. Also with the draft coming up, Iâm sure we will see more cuts leading up to training camp, so there will be others.2 points

Sign Brown for a year or even 2. He starts until Lathem Mims or Fuaga are ready to start. 2 yr 15 mil 7.5 Think of it as Year one starter....11mil Year two backup....4mil. Either way he helps the team hold down RT until a rook is ready to go full bore.2 points

Haha. After effects of my trauma from not taking Dawand Jones last year, who I went on the record saying was worth a first.2 points

Which does seem like kind of a big deal when they don't have a starting RT on the roster. I'd still rather have Chase & will instead point to not making a single OL pick last year.2 points

Wasn't Rankins usually lined up at NT for Houston? He made Cappa look like a traffic cone: Rankins highlights1 point

I've heard Latham, Fuaga, and Fautanu all described as having pro bowl guard potential.1 point

I get your opinion, but I think knowing what they did to get to the Superbowl in the first place is a key focus in getting back. It show what worked and what didn't, which is point-blank a subpar O-Line. That cost us a possible SB win in 2021, and it cost us a possible return to the SB in 2022. If Trent Brown turns out to be the main cog that finally makes the Bengals O-Line finally respectable for Burrows benefit, we should get back. I want to say they should had did something, just it isn't done. My personal opinion.1 point

Well.. So far? Because all y'all actually "did" was lose a Superbowl but you seem to think that means something years later. That's a big part of why you haven't done it again. There's no do-overs, all it means is that it's going to be harder the next time because no one is overlooking the Bengals now. This whole organization needs to stop strutting around like they've done something and get back to work.1 point

They did from what I could tell, but he wanted to weigh his options and left town without signing it. I know in years past players and their agents would come to Cincy to set a market and drum up interest only to get another team to sign them for a similar deal..not sure if that was Becton's play but thankfully the door on him going to this team has closed. Sounds like he took this opportunity for granted, it will be interesting to see where he lands.1 point

Did they offer Becton a contract? At work and did not see it if they did. BUT... all's well that ends well and glad Brown is here.1 point

Huge signing (literally and figuratively) 𧥠đ€ My only quibble would be I would have preferred a 2 year deal.1 point

Thatâs all hypothetical. What we do know is that all of the recent QB trades have been for very little return. Iâm sure there will be more moves during or after the draft. Very unlikely Browning is moved or would get much in a trade. The market just isnât there.1 point

And, this time of year especially after the first week flurry, it is all about the coin/length of deal/guarantees. These guysâand especially their agentsâno long care about âplaying with Joeâ. As long as the moolah is right, they couldnât care less about the team. If it happens to be a contending one, icing on the cake. But neither Brown or Becton is demanding âI have to be here!â1 point

That's a ton of supposition based on a hunch. How about Brown wanted to play LT, like Orlando Brown did? And after a week of FA and holding out for that, he didn't get any bites? So now he's open to playing RT? There are a million of these possibilities, the most glaring of which is probably money. Again, perhaps he thought he was worth something, and after a week of not getting what he wanted realized he was closing his own window to get the best possible deal.1 point

No the market says otherwise. Fields, Pickett, and Mac Jones were all traded for peanuts. Nobody else is going to trade anything but a late round flyer, possibly in next yearâs draft, for Browning.1 point

Maybe I should have said a good move for us? LOL. I see these as good moves in the sense that they quickly recognized Pickett Mittens was not going to cut it so these moves are transitioanl to keep them 'competitive' or seen as such. Wilson is a head case but so was Jen and too many other Stealers to count. Fields is a cheap back-up shot in the dark type at this point. The problem for almost all teams in the AFC is theysee thier QB's compared to Mahomes, Burrow, Allen and it is bad enough with one of those types in the conference let alone 3.1 point
