Jamie_B
I'm actually really encouraged that the 2ndary play will be MUCH better next year. Cam said in this video they are taking minimal time off then he is flying them somewhere together to work on communication.

They already have DJ Moore and will likely pick Marvin Harrison. They may and should sign Boyd to the slot. They take the 9th pick and draft an OT to protect Justin Fields. No need to take on Tees future contract imo.

The league likes to punish teams that play brutal schedules as much as possible. So of course Cincinnati will draft last among all 5 teams with 9-8 records. Will the Bengals draft the 18th pick in every round or just in the 1st? Do they rotate each round among the teams with the same records? I can never remember.
Le Tigre
In looking at the 9-8 teams, the Bengals were far and wide the best of them. The Mayfields won their division, but have no idea why. GB made the playoffs, but… JAX was underachieving and blew important games WITH their alleged franchise QB IND tried their best, but was plagued by depletion in their ranks. I’m not so sure Minshew isn’t the better QB on their team Seattle was as inconsistent as a team could be. They should be thankful with 9 wins. The Saints impressed me the most. Overall blech…but scrapped and clawed. Getting an over .500 record for them is an achievement
spicoli
Maybe we should give Hill another year to develop 🤷♂️ He had some good moments this year, it’s not like it was all bad. I wouldn’t say it was any worse/better than Bates first year as a starter.

The DBs are VERY young, let’s give this some time.

With all the miscommunication, the hope should be that that simplify the defense a little bit and let these young guys use their 4.3 wheels to play fast. Stop trying to play split coverages and go out and get a guy who can help BJ Hill get some interior pressure. Zach Carter can’t be playing significant snaps for this team next year. He’s a year 3 project they can give up on if he doesn’t show significant improvement next preseason.

Time will tell of course, but he's had a really nice year. He's cut down on INTs and has taken a page out of the JB-Chase book and really gotten CeeDee Lamb more involved. He's got some weapons - more depth at WR, some good young TEs, two solid RBs. I hate the Cowboys but especially given the weak NFC, they've got a chance to make a run this year. At least to the conference championship game. Assuming that's in SF, that'll be tough but they could /should have beaten them in last year's playoff game.

sparky151
Dak Prescott is under contract for 2024. The problem for the Cowboys is they've pushed money from prior seasons down the road so Prescott's cap number is about 60 mil. That's at the same time that Cee Dee Lamb and Micah Parsons are ready to come off their rookie deals for market value deals. So apparently the plan is to sign Dak to an extension and push his money further down the road to make space for the other guys. They'll most likely let Tyron Smith walk. Maybe Biadasz too. Pollard won't be getting as much as he expects.

I_C_Deadpeople
There are actually a lot of solid OL prospects in the draft this year. What is interesting is, from the Bengals perspective, there are a few good RT options (Lapham, Fauga, Mims, Guyton) plus there are a few other LT prospects that some feel mey be better suited for G - and with that is mind, one or two of these (like Barton, Beebe, Morgan) may test out well at RT in all the pre-darft work. Jonah made a pretty seamless move to RT (seamless in that he played at about the same level as he did at LT?) , not saying it is easy but the team may find they like on the second level LT/G guys as a RT.

sparky151
No thanks on Latham. He looks like Evan Neal 2.0. My view is that whoever plays RT for the Bengals should also be able to play LT. So pass on the run blocking specialists, we're in a division with the Ravens who led the league in sacks plus TJ Watt and Myles Garrett who will be lined up vs our weaker pass blocking tackle. So Mims, Guyton, Paul, Morgan, Suamataia should be on our list but Latham or Fuaga shouldn't be.

I like the kids nastiness. A true "naileater".. Hard enough finding a mauler at RT let alone finding a RT/LT candidate. I'm good with Mims or Guyton though.

Mixon is currently 9th in rushing yards but the Bengals don't rush the ball consistently enough to get a flow going, too pass-happy. We definitely have to get more talent on the offensive line tho, specifically at LG and RT, because I don't expect Jonah to return and Volson sucks. I agree with this.Zac likes to throw the ball too much. You need a more balanced offense.

The mental part needs a lot of work but I wouldn't say that's shocking. Really, at UM he was more of a slot guy/chess piece and in year one, when he did play, it was in several places too. Not making excuses... he didn't play well enough, but I think he can.
|High School Harry|
Seeing a lot of the media mock drafts have us getting Mims. Good indicator it won't happen. I guess I would be OK with it... spicoli
Mims has too many question marks to spend a first round pick on, IMO. He’s only started nine games in his college career for one and is also coming off tightrope surgery for an ankle injury. Pass.
