Weird timing for Dallas... someone must have become available that wasn't there before? Quote
|Montana Bengal| Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 Dallas should try to trade for Tomlin. Jimmy J's idea. Quote

MichaelWeston Posted January 14 Report Posted January 14 FWIW, its absurd to me that teams interview this many people. How can they not have 5-8 guys ready to go. Maybe you interview someone now to get to know them for down the road, but it just seems like wasted efforts. Quote

I don't have a problem with teams doing their due diligence 1 Quote

Maybe you interview someone now to get to know them for down the road, but it just seems like wasted efforts. Teams like to cast a wide net for their initial interviews. They can get insight from people they wouldn't normally be able to speak to. Al Davis was famous for picking everyone's brains when he interviewed. Patriots had their guy from the start but other teams seem open minded about it. For a team like the Jets, they are looking for a GM too so they hope either the HC brings a favored GM with him or vice versa. The Jags said they were keeping Baalke as GM but there are lots of rumors that if their new coach wants a different GM, he might get it. Quote

Todd Monken is the OC I'd like to see become a head coach. He has done wonders for Lamar Jackson & the Ravens. Monken was a brilliant hire by Baltimore. 1 Quote

Seems like potentially alot, and I imagine that list is always fluid. Quote

NFL....not for long Sounds like nobody outside their org wanted to go to Cleveland to fail for a year before the owners fire everyone. If they use their first pick on a QB, that might buy the coaches and GM more time while they wait for Watson to exit their salary cap. But it's probably not in the team's best long term interest. They'd probably be best served by trading down with a QB needy team, replenishing their draft picks after sending 3 1s to Houston and rebuilding their base while using a stopgap vet at QB like Cousins or Darnold. 2 Quote
Le Tigre Posted January 15 Author Report Posted January 15 Which means they will take (reach) for a QB Quote
claptonrocks Posted January 17 Report Posted January 17 I found that LB Mike Vrabel caught 10 passes in his career with the Patriots. His line is 10 catches for 17 yards and all 10 catches were for TDs . 1 Quote

On some level... Why not interview as many potential DC's as possible? Even if you don't want to hire him, he might the Ravens DC in two years, and you've had the opportunity to sit him in a room and get him to explain his scheme and how he thinks in depth. If you've already decided on Golden, why not interview the Ravens LB coach and the Stealers secondary coach for scouting purposes??? "So, how do you like to disguise coverages again?? Let's break down some tape." 1 2 Quote
