The traditional day for firing coaches, etc for the non-playoff teams is the Monday after the  season’s final game.

Firing news—for both Bengals (hopefully the season extends another week) as well as other teams—can be made here. Also, those coaches just moving on because.

For the Bengals…regardless of whether the season ends today or after their march to the SB…there will be no significant departures

It’s already begun. Ken Dorsey and Andy Dickerson out in Cleveland after only one year.

I don’t think that’s fair, given all the injuries Cleveland had on their OL and the shitstorm that Dorsey had to deal with at QB.

Let's keep in mind Stefanski gave up the play-calling this year, and as part of that I can imagine he has zero tolerance for anything he deemed "sub-par".  I don't really keep track of all this but are there any rumblings that he's going to take that job back again?

He didn’t turn over play calling until Watson got hurt, and the stats improved under Dorsey slightly. But their QB situation is still a mess.

Monday Monday....

The Hot Seat??!!

LV Raiders: 4-12.  Current coach Antonio Pierce 1 year.   New minority owner Tom Brady.  No legitimate QB.  Fired the O coordinator, QB and Oline coach in November.    Team is in total disarray.  Never hire the players' buddy.

New York Giants 3-13.  Current coach Brian Daboll 3 yrs 18-31-1.  Lost 10 in a row then inexplicably beat the Colts last week. No legitimate QB, in fact they benched and released their "22-44-1 Franchise QB" earlier in the season.

Jacksonville Jaguars 4-12. Current coach Doug Pederson 3 yrs 22-28.  According to team owner this was supposed to be the best team ever assembled in Jacksonville.  Trevor Lawrence is quickly becoming a footnote in the NFL.  We shall see.

Dallas Cowboys 7-9  Current Mike McCarthy 5yrs 49-34.  McCarthy's contract ends at approximately 4pm EST today and well, its the Cowboys.

Cleveland Browns  3-14  Current Kevin Stefanski 5yrs 40-44.  The gift that keeps on giving, Deshaun Watson, simply can't be blamed on Stefanski.  I would be more worried about him stepping down since the future looks horrible  but we shall see.

New England Patriots 3-13 Current Jarod Mayo 1 year.  Guessing he gets another year but it has been pretty ugly except the win against the Bengals of course.  Maye looks like a keeper at QB.  UPDATE: Mayo fired.

Tennessee Titans 3-13 Current Brian Callahan 1 year.  Tough 1st year for the former Bengals OC.   The QB of the future looks NOTHING the part.  Callahan is probably safe but the QB spot is a serious issue.

Interim Coaches who should be looking for employment elsewhere...

New York Jets 4-12.  Nobody cares who the interim coach is.  Fired both the head coach and GM already.  Needs to be burned down. No QB.

New Orleans Saints 5-11.  They show signs of life on occasion but this is a complete tear down and rebuild.  No QB.

Chicago Bears  4-12.  Just another day in the park on a Saturday, you would think it was the 4th of July.  Probably ok at QB for now but their coaching this year was borderline criminal.

So I am guessing 7 for sure vacancies.

UPDATES:

Mayo fired.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Stefanski try and get out of there.

Callahan is in a tough spot because he has no QB and the draft class is sub-par.

Yeah if I'm him I go get Kirk Cousins

Good stuff SF..

A huge carousel of changes coming up.

Vrabel as HC for Jets rather than wait for Brady to tell Mark Davis to hire him over Pierce could happen.

Wait Mikey wait..

Sounds like Jax fans are calling for their GM not so much Peterson

Pederson has done nothing to improve Lawrence.

That was the idea when hired.

House cleaning for Jets and Browns should happen.

Doubt it.

Jets already have cleaned house  What does Stefanski have to show for 5 years at Cleveland? A playoff win with Baker Mayfield?

Lost to this mf-er...gd it

They dealt Mayo a crappy hand. Maye looks like a player but they lack talent in a lot of places. If they cut ties, I’d take him as a defensive coach for sure.

And one playoff appearance last year with Joe Flacco.

He was also Coach of the Year in 2020 and 2023.

What about the Bengals? I doubt Zac is going anywhere but what about the assistant coaches? Does anyone think the last couple of weeks have saved Lou's job?  I have my doubts. What about Pollack? I've been complaining about him for awhile and he always seems to stick.
