The manager of a downtown bar says Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga was involved in a bar fight over the weekend where he injured the manager.

According to the manager, Maualuga was at Luxe, a bar located at the corner of 6th St. and Main St. in downtown Cincinnati, where he allegedly punched the manager, causing him to be injured.

FOX19's Dave Culbreth spoke to the bar manager, where he detailed the incident. You can watch his interview on the FOX19 Ten O'Clock News.

Cincinnati Police are still investigating the incident, and Ray Maulaluga has not been charged.

He's a new father, and he's admitted that he's got a drinking problem.

And he's hanging out in bars and reportedly punching people. Even if there aren't charges filed, I hope he gets more help because it sounds like he needs it.

In college he had a drinking related offense and was also in trouble for punching a man in the face and ordered to take anger management courses. Its a shame he can't have more aggression on the field and less off the field. I actually did a paper on athletes as violent offenders in college, and athletes that came from more contact sports were more likely to be violent offenders than those of sports like tennis and other sports. The one thing that many experts are unsure of, is violent people more prone to play violent sports, or do sports with more contact breed violence in people.

Maybe he should begin drinking before games? Give him that killer instinct that he lacks. His vision can't get any worse.

Maybe the Bengals coaches need to treat him like the Waterboy and tell him to imagine the other team's quarterback is a manager at a local sports bar and would actually want to hit him. Then they can tell him to imagine the other team's runningback is Erin Andrews so he will make sure to get on top of him and proceed to get him on the ground and hump him while slapping him in the back of the helmet. Ok, I'd just be happy if he gets the runningback on the ground.

We need the federal gov to enact legislation to help bars to provide child care to their patrons.

BENGALS: The manager of a bar in downtown Cincinnati says Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga was involved in a fight there this past weekend, according to Fox19. Maualuga is accused of punching a manager at Luxe, according to the report. "One of them said something at which point I repeated myself, that they had to leave, and then Rey Maualuga got up, took three or four steps and punched me in the face, more noticeably the eye, then my nose started to bleed," said Sammy Laham, Luxe manager. Hensley's slant: Maualuga hasn't been charged, and Cincinnati Police are still investigating the incident. But this is still the worst way for any team to start the offseason, especially one with the history of the Cincinnati Bengals.
