Die Stealers Die Week (Act 1)

Recommended Posts

Just ran several Playoff Machine scenarios—very conservatively. Even with losses to both Stealers on road and KC,the Bengals get in at 6th or 7th Seed. It even isn’t like they have to have a ton of help either which would not be expected outcomes.

Get this one, then reassess.

I just went back and looked at some Jake Browning highlights from U-Washington. I got a little wood, I mean not a full on rager but about a 3/8 chub.

Looks like he can run a little bit too as he showed the other night.

IDK, just looking for something, anything.

The Stealers are starting to fall apart, last week it was Pickens having a hissy fit, this week it was Diontae Johnson trying to fight one of his coaches..

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/diontae-johnson-had-to-be-pulled-away-from-a-member-of-coaching-staff-on-sunday

Quote

Consider this from Mark Kaboly of TheAthletic.com, regarding receiver Diontae Johnson: “Then there was Johnson getting visibly upset on the sidelines during the second half Sunday, which was significant enough that rookie offensive tackle Broderick Jones had to pick him up and carry him away from a member of the coaching staff. That led to a lengthy sideline talk between Johnson and coach Mike Tomlin during the give-and-take moment.”

The Stealers have had some issues at WR recently, from Antonio Brown and Chase Claypool being kicked off the team to the recent guys they seem to have issues keeping their WR's happy/sane.

If the Bengals' defense can limit their WRs early I can see frustration setting in and  the Stealers having a rough day and this team imploding..they are on the edge of falling off a cliff and holding players-only meetings discuss how bad they are, I can see lots of finger pointing and yelling...

Stealers running back says he's 'tired of this s**t' following last-second loss to Browns

Running back Najee Harris is tired of it all. Amid declining production -- Harris only has 499 rushing yards and three touchdowns this season -- the former Pro Bowl selection seems to understand that the way the Stealers are winning isn't likely to culminate in a playoff appearance.

Shut him down and we win!

Maybe someone should tell him he's just not that good.

Also above Dr Jesus said

"I actually think the Bengals will beat the Squeelers with Browning at QB."

I've been goofing on that and will take it a step further...

I think Browning/McCarron are > than Pickett.

That said, I went to sports book cage at Hard Rock Casino yesterday afternoon

and put $20 on the Bengals straight up.  Like was 1.5 pots.

More as a vote of confidence as anything else.

The Cincinnati Bengals announced three roster moves, the most notable being the signing of quarterback Drew Plitt to the practice squad.

The Bengals also cleared running back Chase Brown to practice by designating him for return from injured reserve.

Finally, guard Jaxson Kirkland has been placed on the practice squad injured reserve list. Kirkland, a rookie out of Washington, has a wrist injury that will sideline him for a bit.

Brown, a fifth-round rookie out of Illinois, has been on IR since October 28th with a hamstring injury. Monday starts a 21-day period during which he may practice with the team without counting against the 53-player active roster. He is eligible to be activated to the 53-man roster at any time during that period.

Plitt, a first-year player out of Ball State, was a college free agent signee of the Bengals in 2022. He played in two preseason games for Cincinnati in 2022 before being waived and was not with an NFL team during the 2022 regular season or the 2023 offseason. Plitt went on to play in five games for the Arlington Renegades of the XFL during the 2023 season.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Hiding Jax Kincaid for development or simply getting ready to jettison?

This is the massive O lineman who moves like a glacier and has stumblebum footwork.

If they can get him even half way up to snuff he could be a big help in short yardage situations.

He's mad because Jaylen Warren is going to take his job, that's the guy the Bengals need to focus on...he's been the only one making big plays for the Stealers of late and the fact that they keep putting Harris out there instead of Warren is one of the reasons why their offense is mid

Wow...they've been talking about doing this all year and finally pulled the trigger, right before the holidays...stay classy Pittsburg..It's definitely his fault that Kenny Pickett sucks....

Firing coaches mid-season is a move that reeks of desperation, it's not like the Stealers are not in danger of making the playoffs...I guess losing to the Browns with a rookie QB is too much, despite the fact they have one of the best defenses in the NFL.

It just sucks it had to happen the week we play them. Look at the Bills after they fired their OC. Yeah, they have Josh Allen and not Kenny Pickett but it is almost as if the team plays more free and loose after someone is canned.

That's why we have to get out to a fast start, which will difficult with essentially a rookie QB making his first start..Zac is going to have really get this team ready to go..

That’s because the problem is generally either a coach…or the players.  If the coach is fired and it’s still a shitshow, it points to the problem being the players.  Therefore, the players put in super-duper extra effort to “prove” that the problem wasn’t the players.

He's the one that had the 74 yard run for a TD last week against Cleveland. That was their one big play.

Jaylen Warren is a load... given the tackling problems that the Bengals have had, they're gonna need to bring the wood on Sunday, or this guy's gonna run all over them. He's impressive - really hard runner with some speed who's great at getting yards after contact. Remember how James Connor was gashing them in the AZ game before he got hurt... this guy is similar, although I think he runs even harder.
