They are the youngest team in the AFC. The start of a solid foundation has been laid, but there are MILES to go before they rest. Even though Mike doesn't have to spend to the floor of the cap until 2013.....fans hope he attacks free agency with vigor in 2012. Thy have a number of high choices to fill holes not addressed in free agency. They are in position to take a big step in the next few months. Let's see how it unfolds.
http://footballpros....91775#post91775

scharm
The first week of FA is going to be classic. I can't wait for the meltdown. In the end, I think they'll come away with some help.

cincity
I don't think they're going to do too much in FA if there is no one there to fill that huge need. I think they like the make up of this team and don't want to just bring in anyone. I still don't think Cincinnati is an attractive place to go for big name FA's. That also factors into who we sign. We need good depth people. If there's a franchise Safety or Guard that is worth dropping huge money on.. The question will be does he WANT to come to Cincy with all the bad words that have been said about the franchise? Also does that high regarded Free Agent fit the scheme that's going to be run. ( see Nnamdi) The Eagles made a HUGE splash in Free agency and totally fucked up the chemistry of the team.
AZBengal
Not sure what the plans are but this off-season is huge. They can continue to build or take a big step back by standing pat and just counting on the current guys to improve.

Bengals1181
Maybe Marvin takes complete control of this...
yea I'm willing to reserve judgement until we know who this guy is and who "found" him. At least, as far as we know, its not a Brown family member and not an old friend of MB's. That in itself is a step in the right direction.
B.A.B.
If I was forced to place a bet on what we're doing this offseason, I'd bet on us pretty much not doing anything in FA. Maybe signing another aging veteran (like clements) to start somewhere. Another #2 RB. Maybe sign Ced to a 1 yr deal. lol jesus christ, that would SUCK SO HARD
big_dish
Wow/Ugh. I'll wait to see how this offseason plays out, but not an impressive first step. Question- when does this season officially end from a cap standpoint? I was really hoping the Bengals would be locking up some people with this years extra cap money- is this still possible or is MB literally just holding on to it? gatorclaws
Normally I'd expect them to not do much, but they've done a lot of unexpected lately. They dropped some season ticket prices and may want to make a splash and keep the excitement growing
BigDawgBengal
They are going to have to do something to get the excitement back. They got the fans fired up for the last two games and the team fell short killing any excitement for the causal fan going into the offseason. Signing a big free agent will bring some of that excitement back.

scharm
I think people had this grand world of Lippy directing the entire draft board or something. If he was a top dog, is that the guy you designate to be the Turk? I can not really see the Tobin's taking a back seat to Lippy.
