Watch out AFC North, we got ping pong tables...lol

This would get Taylor killed in a major media market. Fix the running game, nah...work on late game decisions on how to win games...nope

Ping Pong!!!

I guess after this next loss, they will need something to keep the guys from mailing it in.

lol just noticing this from the ping-pong table article:

Ossai also said that “if the head coach says it matters, then it matters”

I guess the head coach didn't mention tackling at all...

The Saints had them at the facility but not “in” the locker room. The training facility has a lot of entertainment for the players.

If the Bengals were smart they would can Taylor and hire Belicheck...Burrow + Chase + Belicheck = Superbowl

Belicheck knows how to build a championship team, coach defense, and win close games...something our current HC can't seem to figure out.

Bill Belichick walks into Mike Brown's office. He says, "I will coach the Bengals for 1 Million a year but I get to make all personnel decisions."

Mike Brown scoffs, "I'm not going to let you make all of the decisions... Are you an idiot?"

Belichick replies, "I've heard it's one of the job requirements, so yes."

Top candidates to replace Zac Taylor as Bengals head coach, Week 14

Story by Chris Roling
  2h  2 min read

Everything should be on the table for the Cincinnati Bengals after the team has successfully wasted an MVP-caliber year from Joe Burrow.

That includes firing head coach Zac Taylor.

Many will scoff at such an idea, especially as Taylor is the one who helped guide the team to a Super Bowl appearance. But the Bengals have also modernized in many ways during the Burrow era, so there's no guarantee another coach ever gets the leeway Marvin Lewis once did.

As the Bengals head into Week 14 at 4-8, here's an updated list of possible Taylor replacements if the team makes a big change.

Ben Johnson, offensive coordinator, Detroit Lions

If the Bengals want to go offensive again, what Ben Johnson has been able to do with Jared Goff and Co. is pretty exciting.

Joe Brady, offensive coordinator, Buffalo Bills

It's a little cliche to list Joe Brady because of the LSU-Burrow connection. He also hasn't had a perfect track record in the pros. But...it's pretty hard to ignore what he's doing with Josh Allen right now.

Aaron Glenn, defensive coordinator, Detroit Lions

Aaron Glenn has somehow overcome losing Aidan Hutchinson, so one has to think he'd be able to use the current talent better than the Bengals are right now. He's also got a great reputation as a player-first coach.

Kliff Kingsbury, offensive coordinator, Washington Commanders

It was a matter of time before Kingsbury came up in conversations again and Jayden Daniels' breakout in Washington has sped things up. The Bengals don't really need offensive help, all things considered, but one has to imagine he could get an interview.

Jesse Minter, defensive coordinator, Los Angeles Chargers

Minter has done a stunning job with Jim Harbaugh's Chargers. He's got the top defense in the NFL despite using castoffs like Poona Ford at nose tackle and two fifth-round cornerbacks on the boundaries.

Mike Vrabel, personnel consultant, Cleveland Browns

Vrabel badly fizzled out in Tennessee, partially because of Burrow and the Bengals, funnily enough. But many would also argue he overachieved, given what he had to work with. Would his culture-building ways be able to overcome iffy ownership and drafting in Cincinnati?

Bill Belichick, former head coach, New England Patriots

Belichick's record at drafting has been downright horrific. He'd probably want some major control that the Bengals wouldn't be willing to give up. And yet, one has to bring up his name in conversations like this. If he could bridge the gap with Bengals brass for the chance to coach Joe Burrow, who says no?

Ejiro Evero, defensive coordinator, Carolina Panthers

Ejiro Evero has had to put up with some horrific rosters in Carolina, yet turned in nice performances. Hence, so many head-coaching interviews. Also...he'd be used to the rehab project the Bengals would throw his way.

Not sure about replacing Zac.  I think that is up to Joe.

BUT I think they should be all over this guy as Defensive Coordinator.

Not sure if it would be considered a lateral move but if the Bengals don't do it, someone will.

It's crazy that there are still articles on this. There is about the same chance of Zac getting fired as there is me having sexy time with Katy Perry. We should be talking about DC's / OL coach, and maybe some defense position coaches.

Agree about Vrabel being DC.

I think he's waiting for a HC position.

Doesn't mean any of these guys are HC material aside from Coach Bill and Mike V.

Look at Callahan in Tenn..

If day they'll run it back with Taylor and replace a few of his assistants.

The only coach I would want that's available.

Not sure he'd want to come here and work under this front office

Probably.

Cleveland has him in the breech if their coach du jour is out

but he would have to ask himself how secure he would be there?

Here he would also know that he would be next in line if Zac falters

and in a much better, more secure position here esp after he has his fingers

in the upcoming draft and free agency.

Joe and Ja'Marr's offense and

Vrabel's defense.

Plus he has the all-important Ohio ties Mike and Pumpkin:wub: covet.

Hiring 20 scouts at (a very generous) $200K a year is $4 Million a year.

For the price of one Drew Sample, we could draft a whole lot less Myles Murphys.

For 2/3rds of a Geno Stone, we could get a whole lot less Sheldon Rankins.

We could hire 60 scouts just based on the difference between what Zac Taylor makes ($4.5M) and what Mike Tomlin makes. ($16M) Is Pittsburgh really that much bigger a market??

The Bengals go into every season with one hand tied behind their backs. Talk about penny wise and pound foolish. It's not "worth" 4M a year to them to spend 250M a year wisely.

Does anyone really think Bill Belichick wants to come here and work for 25% of what he made in New England? Does anyone honestly think Mike and Katie will pay his price??

Zac Taylor parlayed his Super Bowl run into being the absolute middle of the pack in coaching salaries. LOL. Vrabel was making $10M a year when he left the Titans.

Keep dreaming boys. Anyone with a better option will take it. We don't pay enough, and the ownership isn't committed to success.

Guys guys, remember what Duke always says.

It isn't how many voices in the room there are, it's about having the right voices in the room.

I made this point countless times during the lost decade and even during the ML era. Mike Brown is actually a clueless business person, he focuses on annual income instead of the value of the franchise. Thus he makes dumb decisions on personnel, coaches and number of scouts. The value of the the Stealers frnachise is higher becuse they built a winning organization not because it is a big city. Mike seems to think he can do the same thing with half the staff for some reason, depsite repeated failures.

What if Day gets fired by OSU, think Vrabel would take that job?

THE is going to have a home playoff game this season…and it’s likely to be a much lower quality participant.

Should they advance to at least the semis, he’ll have one more loss to Michigan to spare before an axe would fall.
